I have no idea how this video materialized, but apparently it aired on Belgium television. (NSFW)

It would be hilarious if this guy opened at the next Justin Bieber concert.

This is one of the best reasons I've ever seen for ordinances against p.a. amplifiers being used on public streets. Someone wants to sing (even as badly as this guy), fine. Someone wants to play a guitar or any other ACOUSTIC instrument, fine. But no one should be allowed to accost the public with loud, distorted amplified PA equipment or bull horns or any other "supplemental" electronic amplification. Someone needs to short out this guy's battery....really.

I don't know Frank, many street performers are annoying because they do play too loud with REALLY bad PA equipment (and many have no talent), but it is hard to tell from a youtube video if "grandpa" was offensively loud or not.

What is obvious from this video is that the guy isn't taking himself too seriously and is having fun, and as such everyone around him is having fun. I'd hire the guy for a party. [Wink]

Cambridge, MA has just such an ordinance in place for street performers. You can use any amplifier you want so long as the sound levels are less than 50 dB at 50 feet. Drums should be inaudible from 100 feet.

You have to have a permit to be a street performer in Cambridge. When you get your permit you have to sign that you agree to that rule.

I was a street performer in Harvard Sq. for one summer. It's a very, very hard gig if you want to do it well. That's why I only did it for such a short time.
