What sort of display device are you playing it back on? I'd love to see a screen shot. As for my own show and tell, I received a Blu-ray of The Mummy Returns in the mail today. Bad movie, but fond memories at a good price: couldn't resist. OST CD for the Studio Ghibli Museum short Mr. Dough and the Egg Princess - Joe Hisaishi conducting Vivaldi's La Folia. A second and in-better-shape theater poster for the current Studio Ghibli release From Up on Poppy Hill. Art books for Mamoru Hosoda's 2006 film The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and his 2009 Summer Wars, art concept book for Dennou Coil, The Art of From Up on Poppy Hill, a second volume of character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's art work entitled Carmine, another art book by my favorite animation background artist Kazuo Oga, entitled Akita - the Scenery of Play, and the biggest find so far, The Complete Graphics of Eyvind Earle and Selected Poems and Writings 1940-1990. This last one was supposed to be a copy from the recent reprint, but from what I can tell, it appears to be from the long-out-of-print 1991 edition. What a find! Eyvind Earle is probably most known for his work at Disney in the 1950's where his credits included background painter, color stylist, and production designer for Sleeping Beauty. I fell in love with his designed realism paintings and serigraphs of the California central coast when I first saw them at the Tamara Bane gallery in Los Angeles in 1985.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! Bad movie, but fond memories at a good price: couldn't resist. AJG Planar PD8150 projector, Panamorph UH380 anamorphic lens, and a 148" Draper 2.35:1 screen. I just got the DVD today to compare with. I'll post screen shots of both. Some MUSE stuff looks great. Some? Horrific. At it's best, it's sharper than DVD (until the panning begins). Hi-Vision Lawrence is quite dark and has the usual MUSE green cast to it but with a bit of tweaking of the RGB values and other adjustments it looks fairly good. It took three sittings to get through this one since we usually don't have much film watching time with two little kids. The picture was fantastic on our 40" LCD TV in our bedroom.
