The sound is also AC3 5.1, so not any of the re-mixes they later did to 6.1. I like the special edition because it adds some really good character development but I think the theatrical cut flows better, and thus is the superior cut. There are five planned volumes, four of which are out now. Registered: Jun 99 posted 04-27-2011 05:41 PM                     The G.F. has this whole “let’s get rid of cable, we don’t watch it anyway” thing going on, so we’re trying out one of these. I must say that I’m pretty pleasantly surprised by the quality so far, of course it’s not quite Blu-Ray and there are certainly more compression artifacts visible, but overall the streams received by NetFlix, Hulu, Crackle and other services are very watch-able (including the Al-Jazzeera English service, for those keeping up with those rascally Taliban). You can get five channels of NASA TV, many international services, and five or six low quality highly compressed channels of old public domain movies and TV shows. I ran a Cat. 6 from our router to our TV rack before we got it, but as it turns out the model we picked up supports dual band Wi-fi as well. I compared the reception from both, and there is very little difference. I don’t know if it’s a cable-killer yet, but there is certainly no end of things to watch with it. Only drag it that our Sony’s HDMI inputs are full, and I didn’t want to buy a switcher. This model does support component out, but you have to order this special optional cable right from Roku, it’s a weird mini tip-ring-ring-sleeve to a three RCA fan-out thing. Seems to work OK.
