Sword and Citadel by Gene Wolfe  |  IP: Logged Frank Angel Film God Posts: 5305 From: Brooklyn NY USA Registered: Dec 1999 posted 01-10-2011 03:52 AM                        I decided I had enough of Verizon DSL crappy 690Kbps for $40 a month and a company that kept me on the phone switching me from division to division, rep to supervisor to rep AND supervisor in three-way conversations for over an hour, that were reminescent of a Marx Brothers movie, trying to get them to refund a credit that each dunce I spoke to admitted they owed me, but couldn't figure out how to get a refund check issued. So OFF WITH THEIR HEADS I say! Now Verizon is gone, canceled, booted in the arse. I am now using THIS modem for internet service. No phone line connection....no cable connection, no satelite dish, just 1s and 0s right out of the air; it works on 4G wireless service. And like cell phone service, it's practically EVERYWHERE. I just powered up this baby and bingo -- 5 bars and internet speed of over 6Mps for $35 per month. And I will never EVER have to deal with Verizon again. And fear not -- it has nothing to do with Scientology. I may have to look into one of those. I just bought one of these for my son and it arrived Friday from Amazon. He LOVES garbage trucks, excavators and basically any heavy machinery that involves hydraulics. ...and this I bought for me. It makes clearing my long driveway of snow so much more tolerable. When I was shopping for one I was more concerned about power and clearing path width. After I got it home I realized that it had motorized chute rotation and a motorized chute deflector. It even has dual level electric hand warmers in the handles and an electric start. Sadly though, I purchased this by selling my two Simplex XL projectors. They won't have enough power and the batteries will not last long enough, I thought. Then I received a DeWalt cordless drill for Christmas about 10 years ago, and became a believer. That thing can do anything; I used it to remove all the seats from the theatre and disassemble them, and was amazed how long the batteries lasted. I've used that drill more than any other power tool I've ever owned and even after all this time, it's still only on its second set of batteries. So now I got this DeWalt cordless saw. It's amazing how much quieter and lighter (even with battery) it is than the old corded model I have.
