It was a Zeiss 36mm ƒ-0.7. He bought a pair of them from NASA so he could shoot indoors by candle light. From what I understand, two of them were made. I think Zeiss has one. I seem to remember that the other is in the Smithsonian. Yah, it's stupid. Anyway, what it does is let you extend your IR remote wirelessly thru walls and over long distances, from one room to another. Say you've got a TV in one room (ours is in the bedroom) and then in the living room you've got your main system with all the hardware -- BluRay player, LaserDisc player, cable box, stereo system, etc. You want to control everything that's in the livingroom from the bedroom. Use this system. The transmitter unit goes in the bedroom. You aim your universal remote at it and it converts the IR pulses to RF which is picked up by the receiver unit in the livingroom. The receiver unit converts the transmission back to IR which in turn is aimed at your system and all your equipment is controlled in the bedroom wirelessly. And flawlessly. We love it. Another X10 wireless marvel (made in China). You can't get an idea of the size from this pic. They are miniscule -- like the size of a coffee cup.  |  IP: Logged Justin B. It was the only one I could find that had wireless internet actually built in, and was not just capable of wireless by you purchasing an additional adapter. Works great coupled with my Monster® HDMI cable on my 32" Sanyo TV. Wireless is a little slow on my Time-Warner Cable network (but that's probably my distance from the router.) It looks very capable of restoration. Do you have a place to install an organ that it would control? There are lots of organ parts floating around. Many are from other brands of instruments. Do you need to have authentic pipes and chests or are other brands acceptable? Let me know what you need. It's a companion volume to another one I have called Disney Treasures. These are amazing books -- they are history books about Disney and Pixar, but what makes them unique is they include all kinds of reproductions of photos, documents, tickets, posters, letters, memos and anything else you can think of. These reproductions are tucked into pockets, placed in foldout pages, inserted in envelopes, etc etc etc. It's very cool. Now I'm worried that I'll spend the rest of my life wishing I had time to watch stuff. Also we are going to Florida for a vacation next week and by accident I found out that good seats for an Eagles concert were still available at the brand new, "state of the art" Amway Center arena...it's the first ticketed event to be held there. So I snapped up 2 tickets. And then found out today the show is being postponed till Oct. 26, which is 9 days after we come home. Oh well. If you are a fan of the band's pre-Michael McDonald sound, I recommend this. They sound great. Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston are both in fine vocal form and the songs are uniformly excellent. A way better effort than their last album, "Sibling Rivalry." I also picked up the new Heart CD, titled "Red Velvet Car." I do NOT recommend this one. The production on it is weak and the hooks just aren't there.  |  IP: Logged
