Kawai 5ft Baby Grand Player Piano (a division of Yamaha Pianos). The K. Kawai baby grand piano is a house warming present for my nephew's new home. It has an electronic player mechanism operated by an on-board computer which either mechanically plays melodies that are pre-recorded by the some of the best pianists or it plays back a pianist's own recordings. The system allows for every parameter of the pianists original playing style -- percussive force, length of time the key is depressed, etc., so when you put in the disc of Murray Perahia playing Béla Bartók, it is as if he's sitting there in the room playing that piano. It's just an amazing experience -- almost eerie, the keys moving as if a ghost is playing the piano. I actually don't hold it against people who keep playing video games into adulthood, but, the stereotypical adult video player, about 95% of the people I know who continue to play them into their twenties and beyond, *need* to grow up, IMHO. Your comparison still makes no sense. You are assuming it is an either/or situation. A competent individual will care what is installed in the sound rack and care that it is set up as well as it can be. This makes no difference on whether he/she pays attention to the onscreen presentation or not. By your definition, I am a "sound tower junkie" who happened to bring his own film cleaners from home just so the theater could run a cleaner in every auditorium, every show. As a videogamer, I don't let other aspects of my life slide. Just because you can assume that you know me doesn't mean you do. Lump me in all you want, but it only shows you to be presumptuous. We don't get along, not because I am some sort of lower person from playing games, but because I disagree with what you write and see little logic behind it. Also, it's funny that you say that all gamers will be the ones who love sound racks and don't care about picture... funny because tons of gamers are all about their fancy HD picture and couldn't pick out quality sound at all. But what do I know? Does your not choosing that hobby make you a better person? Not in my books. Note: I'm not saying it makes you a worse person either. Oh and a physical therapist I'm at school with said she was buying a WII because the hospital she works at had them use them as part of patient's treatment, using the "fit" for helping balance w/ patients. She realized the thing was quite fun after getting trained on how to use it and that her kid would love it.
