How can he be catering to people who DO celebrate Christmas? Perhaps he's just some old fart with a beard.

Why doesn't the Coca Cola company just make 95% of their cans say "Merry Christmas" and 4% of the cans say "Happy Hanukkah" and 1% of them say "Happy Kwanza" then mix the cans randomly before shipping them out?

Then they have the perfect solution that disrespects nobody but offends everybody equally. [Wink]

Or better yet, just make regular Coca Cola cans, thereby having two advantages:

1. They would save money on designing the Christmas can.

2. The cans won't look stupid when they're still in the refrigerator in April.

I never did understand the whole Christmas Packaging phenomenon anyway. How much more Coke can it possibly sell? "Mom, let's get some Pepsi." "No, let's get Coke instead because it has Santa on the cans." [Roll Eyes]

Because in the U.S. the squeaky wheel gets the grease. We always seem to cater to the smallest percentage of the population on tv, in magazines and politically. We have to be "politically correct" so as not to offend anyone. [Roll Eyes]

Political correctness offends me.

Recently bought:

Cassette player
FM transmitter
10-pack of C-90 cassettes
100-count spindle of CD-Rs

I should explain:
My day job is as a school bus attendant, the bus I'm on this year inexplicably only has an AM/FM radio (it's a brand new bus, the new busses last year had mp3-CD players, the busses I was on before that, and during summer session both had tape decks. I don't own a portable CD player, my mp3 player's headphone output was too weak, the transmitter kept shutting itself off).
So, I burn a 46.5 minute* CD for side A, throw it in my boombox...

I love this thing: I hit record, the CD spins up, but waits until the leader has cleared the heads to actually start playing.

...while it copies to side A, I burn another CD for side B...

Take it on the bus, find an open frequency, throw it on. Better than the local top 40 stations. The sound quality is pretty good, on a par with the local commercial stations.

My mom has a tape deck on her bus (she's a driver), she's had me start making tapes for her, in comes my high speed cassette duplicator, copies both sides of the tape in <5 mins. She's had to explain to her passengers (she drives kindergartners) that, unlike a CD or mp3 player, it's not easy to skip between songs.

Yesterday I held up a cassette asked my elementary kids if any of them new what it was. They had no clue.

*Some of you said "Isn't that too long?"
No, it's not. Commercial blank tapes always have 1-2 extra minutes on each side.

Well, Pepsi certainly has done quite a few gimmicky can designs over the years too.

Consider this:
When I was 7 or 8 I was hanging out at this family friend's house and the mom asked her son (my age) what cookies he wanted from the store. He said "Get [insert brand], because 'They're a party in every bite'" which was the ad slogan for that brand. I simply couldn't believe that someone was that gullible.

A dual screen Philips portable DVD player for my son. I have to leave Friday to go to Chicago for our annual trade show and I will be gone for a week, so my wife is going to visit her sister in Charlotte which is over eight hours away. Since my son does not do well on long trips being strapped in a car seat, we bought some new cheap toys and this dvd player in hopes that it will can keep him entertained and calm.
