It's not quite so important otherwise. Even if your tripod isn't level, the start and endpoint of a panorama shot will line up. Unfortunately some or many of the shots in between will not. The horizon level will bow up or down, which will make the shot look screwy. Worse yet, it will make the "entrance pupil" waver slightly (or obviously) over the tripod's axis of rotation. That may cause obvious seams between the camera shots. Basically, you gotta get the shot leveled properly and get the lens' entrance pupil aligned for the panorama shot to work. You can also see the half built play system I bought for my son sitting in the driveway. A Hydro Products Underwater camera circa late 1970's. I don't know all the specs on this yet but I am told this camera is good to extreme depths, perhaps as deep as 5000 feet. The casing is solid machined stainless steel 3/8" thick and the front window is actually a 4" thick ground piece of quartz and is actually a diopter for the 12.5mm lens. This particuluar one was removed from a submersible that was used in mapping the Gulf Of Mexico. Luckily I have tracked down one of the original engineers of it and he is sending me the full manual. Now all I need is a submarine! No actually a group I'm with are making plans to drop it down flooded mine shafts to see what if anything is down them. Has a silicon target vidicon so it won't need very much light to see! The original price on these cameras was around 40 grand. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that a good number of the other 5% are not offended by the mention of it. So when we say "Happy Holidays" instead, we're really catering to less than 5% of the population. I don't see why the end of the calendar year can't be called the holiday season without people getting all into a tizzy about it, I mean if you call the end of the calendar year "Christmas" that's just ridiculous (as more than Christmas is going on). Also, Santa Claus is on the damn can, how can that be catering to people that don't celebrate Christmas?  |  IP: Logged
