Time to regroup, readjust the numbers, find a new apocalypse date and make another couple of million selling it to another horde of idiots.

Actually, I did get the rapture last night...on craigslist and it only cost $100 for one hour; short-stay room extra. Harold Camping eat your heart out.

Just in case The Rapture is a couple of days late, I'll be in Laughlin tomorrow working on a CFS Rentec lamphouse. Can't think of a better place to be when the end time finally starts... [evil]

I was in a theater in Norfolk, VA when the World Trade Center was attacked.

Since Norfolk is home to the largest naval base in the world, the whole city was basically shut down and placed on high alert. (ThreatCon Delta.) All highways were closed to non-essential traffic. The theater was closed. Everybody who was already at the theater (only about six people) had to stay put for the rest of the day. Anybody who wasn't already at the theater or who wasn't already on their way to the theater was given a mandatory day off.

I had the entire 20-screen complex to myself. I didn't have to wait and work on projectors between shows to do P.M.s. I didn't have to come in at midnight to do major repairs. I got just about everything fixed and did all my preventative maintenance in one day.

Nobody bothered me. The work that normally took two or three days to finish was nearly finished in just one day.

It was the best day working in a movie theater that I ever had!

Oh, now I see that the prediction was off by a few months. The new day of reckoning is 21 October 2011. Damn! Now I have to go reset all my calendar clocks. BTW, still in Laughlin...

I say we get a few thousand people across the country to disappear on that day. Just stop what they are doing, when no one is watching, and head off to a vacation in the mountains or something. Wouldn't that scare the crap out of that preacher, several thousand people called back for the rapture, and he, nor any of his congregation was one of them!!!

[Big Grin] Joe, that is hilarious and one hellofa PUNKED prank. It would have to be done with everyone within a small radius of the old creepy guy Camping's neighborhood, but it could be done. He'd come to the studio next day thinking his prediction hadn't happened AGAIN -- bad enough. But then he'd find maybe only one or two people would be there and they'd tell him that mostly everyone else ascended and only the damned were left. Welcome to hell, Harry! If he was shocked to find the Rapture didn't take place on his day and date, imagine his shock when he thinks it DID happend and he just didn't get sucked up, or whatever it is they think happens at a Rapture.

Officials at Columbia Pictures have just announced the production of a long-awaited sequel to the early 1990s hit movie Groundhog Day. Director Harold Ramis is not sure yet if they will go with a more traditional holiday this time like Thanksgiving or Easter. So far, they are thinking of focusing on a more obscure holiday like Arbor Day or Flag Day.

Columbia is also going to distribute a still-untitled Seal Team 6 film, directed by Kathryn Bigelow. (This from the newest issue of I.M.E.)

Once the trust goes out of a relationship, it's just no fun lying anymore.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
