USA (1774.21 miles northeast of Dallas) Registered: Jun 99 posted 06-14-2010 05:51 PM                        "Starship Troopers." This has been one of my favorites since its initial release. At the time, everyone I knew who saw it hated it. More recently, I have become aware that it has a bit of a cult following, and have met a handful of people who share my opinion of it. Also, I adore Godard's "Alphaville." It is either brilliant art or pretentious crap, depending upon whom you ask. Although Ebert gave it a good review. Some of the ridiculously bad acting helped the send up of propaganda angle work even better. Anyway... My #1 movie that I like that most don't is Popeye. In fact, that movie was a dating criteria for me. If you didn't like or appreciate that movie, we were not going to get along because you wouldn't like my style of humor. Starship Troopers, like Buckaroo Banzi! were always cult following movies. There are those that like them and those that don't. Last Action Hero Phantom Of The Paradise Raggedy Ann And Andy Prelude To A Kiss Vanilla Sky Live And Let Die first bond i saw at a theater! I'll watch this over Michael Bay's bastardization of the franchise any day. Its not a great movie, but at least I can tell what the hell is going on.
