I stopped going to the Continental when they took out the 78' wide D-150 screen and replaced it with a much smaller screen for digital projection. Have you seen anything in the Cine Capri auditorium at Harkins Northfield? It's definitely worth checking out. Please reach out to the management of whichever theater you prefer and ask them to show Dunkirk in 70MM. The only way we'll get it in Denver is if enough people show an interest.  |  IP: Logged William Kucharski Expert Film Handler Posts: 244 From: Louisville, Colorado, United States of America Registered: Oct 2012 posted 05-05-2017 08:10 AM                     Indeed the CineCapri is nice, but it's still smaller than the Colorado Boulevard IMAX or the Regal Continental RPX theaters, especially the latter where they can let the subwoofers run at proper volume because it's isolated and made of reinforced concrete. It's also wonderful that since last fall Regal made both the IMAX and the RPX theaters reserved seating, so no more having to get there two hours before showtime to get a good seat. As we both mentioned elsewhere, the Regal green glow is still much much better than the washed out lower red corners and bad registration at the AMC Dolby at Flatiron Crossing.  |  IP: Logged Geoff Jones Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 579 From: Broomfield, CO, USA Registered: Feb 2006 posted 05-05-2017 07:14 PM                        Add the Cinerama to the Dunkirk 70MM list. We are told a few of our competitors are screening as well. I believe Showplace Icon, AMC River East 21, and possibly the Century in Evanston, all using BLSI equipment. Navy Pier Imax (we are told) will be running 15/70. I believe this will be their first 15/70 engagement since INTERSTELLAR, which looked and sounded great. I pitched our theater with pictures and technical specs including a Isco Bluestar anamorphic. Mentioned the report about theatres with film capability getting to play it exclusively for the first 2 days. They responded that the 2 day thing was just a internet rumor but they will write us down as having 35mm capability. I doubt anything will come of it. I wish Nolan,Tarantino and the other film loving filmmakers would go the extra step and seek us film capable theatres out. I've tried to reach out to them over the years. But where would they find projectionists properly skilled enough to handle the 70mm print? I'm not expecting much from Harkins. They can't even manage to include Dolby Atmos listings on their web site for shows mixed in Dolby Atmos playing on the Cine Capri screens.
