Steve,
For me I would like people ( you for example ) to go and experience it for themselves, to allow them to make an informed opinion based on experience, rather than heresay. The topic is the Trinnov Ovation, and the proof of the pudding, as they say, is in the eating. The purpose of this forum is to discuss Film Tech, we should all speak from experience as much as possible.
Trinnov Ovation isn't a CP750 et all, nowhere close.
It really is worth hearing. Our industry should be embracing this technology and taking heed of a manufacturer who is putting the R&D in, rather than rolling out the next generation of the same concept.

Pete, I don't begrudge the topic or discussion. Yes, I'd love to hear one (or many). Build a better mouse trap? I'm interested.
It is the posting of the various installations that turns this less of a discussion and more of just an "ad" for the product. In fact, it buries the discussion part. If anything, all of the posts relating to mere installations tend to be off-putting, to me at least. As I said, imagine I was a fan-boy of the JSD60 and I set about posting each and every installation. It would dwarf any discusiion on the product itself.
To put it in other terms. I liked the Panastereo CSP1200. I discussed it many times in the FHF but never went about posting the sites I put it in. I wasn't a shill for the product but would be glad to discuss it to anyone interested. Now, if I posted pictures in the warehouse (e.g. The AFI/Silver), then like all other equipment in that post, the Panastereo equipment was listed.
What I think might be of more use is posting a product review with as much detail as possible.
By all means, promote the heck out of something you like. I just don't get the continual installation notice thing.
