The fact that they paid an extra $2 or $3 to see it in 3D? Probably more like mourning over $24 for an Imax ticket ... We have to be gentle and realize that there are (young) people that haven't seen films like Casablanca, or even Star Wars/Aliens/etc before they "aged" (a little) and thus never experienced the emotions of a "great fun movie" in their lifes. The junk that Hollywood has been putting out for the past 15 years since ... well, since Titanic, can hardly get anyone emotionally involved unless Hobbits are your thing or you don't mind Batman's treble-challenged voice. Bella & the vampires go to Pandora to fight the blue aliens. The Avatar alien girl is turned into a blue-werewolf. I'll get all the teenage population. Girls, boys and nerds in one film. Titanic's gross, beware!!!! If it gets picked up, I'll insist on it being shot in 4D smell-o-rama. Not sure how an Avatar alien smells, though. Those creatures are walking around with hardly any clothing, so I guess "Pandora" has no really challenging weather. I'd hate to be outside wearing just a t-shirt and shorts during the cold snap we're going to have Thursday and Friday. Last night we sort of hashed it over and most gave it 6.5 out of ten. Most thought the battle scenes were decidedly not exciting and that the 3D contributed but did not make or break it, would have the same either way. The only character with any character was the colonel and he was a pretty stereotype asshole and rather ordinary.
