The theater was planned to open with an RPX auditorium, but that never realized. December 8-10 had events before the grand opening involving $3 second-run films and Holiday classics. The dine-in cinema features eight auditoriums, one of which has Dolby Atmos and 4K HFR. Seating is standard stadium style with a bench in front of each row with pull-out extensions so you can eat your food. Example screen shot from a local news story: "WTF??? OMG!!! LOL!!!" Must be awesome when someone has to pee. Here's a sexy link to the news story/video(s).. (I'm the Senior Manager and also handle much of the marketing and A/V needs.) We're not 100% complete as the screen installers didn't give us enough material to work with. It's just wrong If you're building from scratch, I would agree that there is no reason to not have scope as your largest format. But playing a movie on that screen in flat ratio with the same height as scope? Posts: 10973 From: Lawton, OK, USA Registered: Apr 2001 posted 12-23-2014 04:28 PM                     Sadly, with the way 'scope has been botched in d-cinema -basically letter-boxed in the projector, just like on a freaking TV set, one could make valid arguments for top masking of 'scope images. In d-cinema the flat format is literally the biggest, most highest resolution image. Scope is a down-grade from that. Maybe someday projection manufacturers will make projector models with imaging chips where 'scope is the biggest format. Or they'll introduce dual lens turrets with anamorphic decompression lenses. If the people making the big decisions in projector technology want to stick with the current, very HDTV like method, cropping down to 'scope, then we'll just see more common width screens and eventually fewer and fewer 'scope movies.  |  IP: Logged Sam Graham AKA: "The Evil Sam Graham". The new multiplex is attached to the maybe half occupied and ridiculously outdated mall (which doesn't appear to have been updated since it opened in 1987) in the former Sears space. It replaces the decidedly unattached Three Rivers 5 (originally opened by Cineplex Odeon) on the mall's frontage as well as Regal Triangle 4 in Longview. Efficiency, people. It's just wrong. Frank, it's 2014, I don't under why people on this board get so offended by this. 1. The scope is as wide as it is ever going to go in this particular theater. Why make the flat picture smaller? 2. Unless you are using an Anamorphic lens (which nobody really does) then using the full chip in the projector will yield the best possible image for flat so you might as well just have the flat screen as large as possible. The decorative whatever-it-is with the doors(?) on it that's immediately i front of the screen sticks out from the wall by four or five feet on each side. It looks pretty, but if that thing wasn't there they would gain another ten feet of screen width. Then they could have their flat picture the size that it is now, and a proper scope picture as well. Decorative features in a theatre are nice and I like an ornate or a uniquely styled theatre as much as the next guy. But when the decoration interferes with the picture on the screen then I have to wonder why anyone would do that since the picture on the screen is what you're actually selling to the customers; decoration is secondary to that.
