Figured its time for an update,My name is Sean, and I am currently (and VERY happily) a manager at The Loews Cineplex Liberty Tree Mall 20, one of the top 10 theatres in my company. I work with very talented, nice people who all work hard to make this theatre the best, I am glad to be a part of it. I started when I was 15 at Patriot Cinemas (Rachels old theatre) as floorstaff, then I moved on to bieng the unofficial Projectionist. Next I moved on to the independant Hollywood Hits 1-7 (Rachels new theatre) as Head Projectionist, I learned many new things there and improved my skills a lot. Next I took an Assistant manager Position at Anthony's theatre, Gloucester Cinema. I enjoyed working with Anthony and had lots of fun, but I didnt get along with the owner so I left. Now I am where I am today with Loews. Its been a fun journey and hopefully Ive found the place to settle down and build a career. Just wanted to up that post count  ------------------

If updating is in order -- there I'll go again too... especially because I got promoted recently.Let's see -- I started when I was 17 as an usher of a realllly run-down 5-plex (Washington Square 5, Petaluma). I got promoted to Asst. Mgr. when the new manager came in, mainly because I was the only one who didn't argue with his odd policies. When that theatre closed, I tried a run at UA as an usher. When I heard Cinema West was going to reopen and remodel the Washington Square, I went back, and being one of the only people who knew where all the light-switches were. After building 5 auditoriums of crappy seats, they let me be an Asst. Mgr. there too. I became the GM there when I turned 18, and ran the location for about 9 months until the dual-ownership of the theatres drove me nuts and I made a move into the main office for administrative work. While doing that, I developed quite an opinion on how things ought to be run, and I told them all about it. This was when I got promoted to Asst. Dist. Mgr. -- helped create policy and procedures, update computer systems, (Tim Harvey baby!!) and then after a few other accomplishments, such as manager commissions, and uniforms for the employees, I was sent to run the Fairfax Theatre 4 which was lotsa fun. But when I tired of being in 50 places at once with no free time... and getting blamed for all the problems, I decided to see what Century was offering for home-office positions. So I went and got my life back, worked 9-5 auditing confection reports. And just this August I got promoted to be a field auditor, so now I can go out and torment managers everywhere!!!! MUAHAHAH.... Just kidding actually... I enjoy it quite a bit -- get to travel, meet everybody, and see new places. So look out for me in a town near a Century Theatres... I'll most likely be the dork with the camera takin pictures of your lobby. -Scott Neff-

Just the same - nothing new except I finally had the opportunity to run a carbon-arc booth (first one since the '80's.) Can't recall the exact date back then, but it was around 1986, I think. The most recent was Sunday, 2 September 2001. This one I will not forget the date. Hmmmm- Post 200.  Paul

Might as well tell who in the heck I am: My name is Don Sneed, Live in Texas City, Texas, Do all service work in Guam, and Japan...Started as projectionist in Galveston Texas in Nov. 1971, Started as sound engineer for International Cinema & sound in Houston Texas in 1980 to 1985...RCA Theatre Service in March 1985 until 1990.Started with Comercial P.A.Services in Galveston Texas in Jan. 1990 until 1998...where I am now with Univeral Cinema Services, Inc in Arlington Texas..have install and/or service most theatre projection equipment to date. Will be installing first D-Cinema Projector in Japan soon..Main job now is only new installations, little service work as needed. Eledctronic knowledge is at componet level....But still & always live in Texas !! I was glad to be part of the old change-over systems & carbon Arc, & mono sound Days, Still remember the sence surround system (which is now as we all know as Sub woofer channel).

Hi,
Im Steve Grimley, the Chief Technician of the two Odeon Cinemas in Richmond, Surrey, England, I have been here for 5 years, but I started with this company in 1970, as a trainee in the Odeon Bristol, England, although I have broken service, I have been back for the last 15 years continuously.
