A friend at the satellite communications company I used to work for sent this--it's a warning sign posted at the company's teleport in Fillmore, CA. (Sorry for the lousy compression--the original looked a lot better at 1600x1200...)

There is a sign at the NSSTC building where I go for meetings frequently that is the same as the "Don't look into the laser with remaining eye." It's next to the real version of the sign.

It's a coincidence that I just saw a sign just like that yesterday (Tuesday) morning!

I made one that says "DANGER - DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE" and I'm going to put it on a water fountain soon. [Smile]

Over 400,000 people die annually from overexposure to DiHydrogen Monoxide! [Eek!]

Out of curiosity if you upload two pictures onto this forum with the same filename, will there be two discrete files or will one overwrite the other?

I found a post I made a while back and the picture had changed to a picture someone else had uploaded.

If a picture called "pic.jpg" is uploaded, any subsequent attempts at uploading a file called "pic.jpg" will be denied.

No, if two files with the same name are uploaded, they're saved in parity mode.

Joe, your second pic was saved via steganography and is hidden among the other pics on the site so it will be available to al Queda.

Thats right John...lets ban DiHydrogen Monoxide and see how the population is affected! The study was not limited to water though...the claim was drowning within a liquid or that drowning was defined as repritory failure due to a liquid...so lets ban all liquids...after all...lives are at stake here! [Roll Eyes]

The scary thing is that while the above was taken and given in jest...there are people that "think" that way...if we can just save one life...it is worth denying everyone else a more enjoyable life.

Steve

Thanks for your insight, Steve. I'm sure that all the people who suffer to provide "everyone else a more enjoyable life" appreciate the sentiment. [Roll Eyes]

As you note, the thread was in a jesting mode. It didn't need to turn sour.
