• remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours
• Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you.
• Don't compain if he's late home for dinner or even if he stays out all night.
• Don't ask him questions about his actions... You have no right to question him.

7. Make him comfortable: Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

8. Listen to him: You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

9. Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment; instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

10. The goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can relax.

Maybe it is, but I think it reflects the spririt of the time very well and I am sure you might easily find similar stuff in actual magazines of the 50s. There was a hilarious film in Germany in the late 80s or so

which was put together entirely from commercials of the 50s. It showed the exact same idea of the role of the housewife as in the article. "The 2 most important questions in the life of a woman: what should I cook and what should I wear?"
