Who the hell wants a sneak-preview to look at a bunch of manuals for projectors...especially those POS Cinemeccanica ones? All technical manuals should be immediately available to all members so as to help all techies out. I wonder what yous are smoking over there? Level 2 should contain all theater related pics. Level 1 should only contain porno pics and be accessible only to members that have had sex with Brad at least 10 times in the last 30 days. Very nice looking facility. Question about the Christie ELF though. Having never seen pictures of one before, the question that comes to mind is Why is the film wound like that? It just looks "wrong" to my layman's eye. Maybe someone could explain how those work for those of us who don't know. Are endless loop systems reliable, and do they cause any extra wear to film? The loose wind of the film can allow dirt particles to get in between the film convolutions. Plus, they are more complex in their operation than normal platters. They can work well, but normal platters are more robust. The other disadvantage is that since they eliminate rethreading between shows, some theatres have also tried to eliminate all booth personnel except for show make-up and tear-down, resulting in neglect of normal projector maintenance like cleaning the projector gate.  |  IP: Logged
