Joe Redifer You need a beating today Posts: 12859 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: May 99 posted 08-02-2005 09:04 PM                        I am angry at the latest DVD release of Ghostbusters, which costs $13 and includes both movies. I am so angry that I didn't buy it. What am I angry at? The packaging! On the back, it says that Ghostbusters 1 is FULL FRAME 4:3 and Ghostbusters 2 is 2.40:1 widescreen. I'll be damned if the GOOD movie in this collection is in 4:3. To make matters even worse, the special features for Ghostbusters 1 says that it is in widescreen. So which is it, 4:3 or 16:9? I dared not buy it because I don't want to be stuck with a crappy 4:3 version. All packages were marked exactly the same. I'll just download the DVD from the internet and see for myself. Seriously, I am. Consumers have no rights anymore and I would not be allowed to return the movie for a FULL REFUND if it turned out to be 4:3 on the ambiguously marked packaging. It's in FULL SCREEN! I found out by reading the reviews on Amazon.com. Google takes months to list a site and new keywords. The DVD was released today. I am perplexed why the studio would offer only a FULL SCREEN version. It still sucks though because it doesn't have the graphics of the guys sitting in front of the screen doing the commentary which is on the old disc. Columbia makes me angry though- they have reissued a lot of titles with only the pan and scan versions when they previously had both on the same disc. They even did a "Special Edition" of Annie with DTS sound, but in pan & scan!
