You have to understand that Phil is among the many Americans who came to Amsterdam to have a good time, and just couldn`t handle all the freedom, so they return home with a headache for the rest of their lifes.

- People who work in drive-thrus who don`t speak English when I drive through the drive-thru after me and my boss just spend 4 months paperwork and $$$ for legal expenses to get a work visa for which I had to prove my "special work experience" and then I drive through a drive-thru where the other foreign worker at the window doesn`t even speak English.

- Automated "voice activated" phone systems ("press 1" was bad enough, these are worse)

- People who are late to movies

- People who leave movies early

- Babies ... just leave'em home until age 7 or 8, please

- When I ask my wife where she would like to have dinner, and she says "It's up to you!" but then I know she doesn't like the place I pick

- People who walk in when I'm obviously up to my neck in work and want to "chit-chat"

- Jerry Springer

Well, let's start with owners that say "I've been in this business for 25 years and this is the way that everybody does it" as a response to any suggestion for improvement, or any HINT of a suggestion that times have changed and that process doesn't work well anymore....

Or how about an owner that has a group of Managers that are all supposed to be equal and are paid the same and then tells one of them that if they aren't happy with the work of one of the other ones they should fire them... How the hell does that work? If one of the other managers tried to fire me I would laugh at them, and I would expect the same response if I said it to them. How does this work?? You fire one, and they retailiate and fire you back - or one of the other ones fires you because you fired someone?? Sounds like a Job for the owner himself, or if he doesn't want to do it then fork over the bucks and create a General Manager position and make them do it....

Mike B: - People who are late to movies.

I'll one-up that!

People who are late to movies, can't find seats together, who then go get the usher to make other people move down so they can sit next to each other... And... The ushers who DO it!

FUCK THEM!

I always say, "I came here on time so that I could have my choice of seats, now somebody who shows up late can ask me to move?! No!"

Mind you, I have no problem with ushers who point out where the empty seats are BEFORE the movie starts. I'll even give them a break if the house is crowded They can help people find EMPTY seats during the first couple-three trailers. But NO moving people.

If you're late you must take what you can get! If you can't sit together, THOUGH SHIT!

Caveat: Ushers have the right to ask able-bodied customers to vacate handicap chairs if there are H.P.s who need them; provided there are other empty seats nearby for the able-bodied to move to.

My biggest pet peave is people who don't care about things:
I would spend a lot of time working on projectors and films to get them as perfect as I am able. Then some idiot comes along behind and bollocks it all up! I can give you example after example!

People who dump trailers on the floor in order to rewind them. When you tell them that this is wrong they argue with you and deny that it hurts the film.

People who use ball peen hammers to untangle brain wraps and then try to blame YOU for fucking up the projector! (Actually happened! He was the G.M. of the theater!)

People who complain to you that the "light" in the projector won't come on; who after being told to replace the xenon lamp; who you KNOW are capable of doing so because you watched them do it; who then blame YOU for not "fixing the projector" when customers complain that they can't see the picture! (Charles, I hope your fuckin' teeth rot right out of your mouth, go down your throat then bite you in the asshole on the way out! [fu] )

To top it all off... Upper management who won't back you up when you report people who do these things and even PROMOTE hammer-weilding managers! [Mad]

Randy, managers tend to stick together in order to defend their stupidity and lack of logic. Now granted there are some fantastic managers out there, but unfortunately they are in the minority. I've seen managers hate individuals that they haven't even met yet because they've "heard things". I think I will now add to my list:

-Managers who really really want to learn how to "run the booth" just so they know. They get a few lessons and are then satisfied and never touch the equipment again. But the thing is they will always think that they are fully qualified. So one night after the projectionist goes home, they decide they want to watch a late movie..... Ahhhhh!!!!

I hate people that Hate.

Why Hate?

I prefer the term 'things that irritate me'

I get irritated by people that have no clue, and don't even realize it.

How about people that can't admit to being wrong.(or make excuses constantly)- when I f--k up, I admit it. It's easier for everyone to get past it then.

I don't like people when they put others down... Putting someone down really doesn't accomplish anything.

If someone irritates me, I won't put them down but I may never talk to them again.

This is "Things that make you ANGRY". Being irritated is the same as being annoyed. Being angry is like being irrated x 10 or more. Everyone gets angry.

Have I annoyed you yet? [Smile]
