Never in my life have I owed so much to one person. Paul taught me so much, both in the techie relm, and in life. he was always there for me, even though I sometimes shot him down. He was patient and generous. He promised me he'd never yell at me, and he never did. He was a man of his word. Its because of him I got into both film and radio. He helped me build a booth, carbon arc and changeover, no less. He was my best friend. USA Registered: Sep 1999 posted 07-09-2004 10:11 PM                     Paul's brother Roger Thompson has been contacting some of Paul's acquaintences to inform them of what has happened. Two weeks ago Paul installed a brand new payphone at the Anacortes 3 theater while I rebuilt a tired, broken video monitor on a Ms. Pacman game there. We had lunch together and he seemed in good spirits. That was the last time I saw him. Paul lived in Mount Vernon, Wash. I'm not familiar with the newspaper up there or it's name so a little searching will need to be done to find his obituary. I don't remember if the paper was located in Mount Vernon, Arlington, or Burlington. Edit: After a little Googling, I found the local newspaper. It's the Skagit Valley Herald located in downtown Mount Vernon (www.skagitvalleyherald.com). It was right around the time they had the earthquake in the Washington state area. I liked reading his posts and he was humorus and straight forward with his coments. I never had a problem with anything he had to write about and I wish I was as lucky as Josh and the other people here who had the chance to meet him and be a part of his life out of cyber space. It is strange how you can feel the loss of some one you have never met. It is somehow ironic that Paul was the one who brought the news of Vern Klingman's death late last year. Paul was one of the first Film-Techers from outside of my local area that I had met in person, we met at ShoWest in 2000, and hit it off pretty well. He also assisted me with some tube equipment troubles in the past as well and was always there to lend support (usually online) for almost any equipment problem...
