Author Topic: Myspace Evans A Criswell Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1579 From: Huntsville, AL, USA Registered: Mar 2000 posted 08-02-2006 09:31 AM                        LiveJournal is a superior blog site, and that's where I keep my main blog, but MySpace gets use from me because so many of my friends only use MySpace. The problem with using MySpace to communicate with others to plan short-term events is you never know when it's going to be down or when bulletins or messages won't be working, and the site seems to have the most problems when people would need it most for such things: Friday nights and during the weekend. I'm pretty sure of that one, so take a number. Since the flirting with girls thing wore off, now it's just a huge waste of time. No new comments, no new messages, ... no point in logging on anymore. But I still do. The pages are readable and don't contain any music...you guys are going to get kicked off of myspace. You hate yourself for doing it, but it's right there and yeah, sometimes it bites your sac but it is still easier than going out in the real world to get laid. Of course I am joking, a little. On a more serious note, Why did they take off the name search function? I thought that was the whole point of the website, to find your friends? I dunno if that is something that is supposed to happen, but I was trying to look up an old school buddy. They are not equipped to handle their traffic flow. What the hell is the point of my cable modem when their servers are so damn slow? Also - who the hell are these people who (A) Want to be my friend (B) E-mail with loads of crap? (present company on Film-Tech excluded from the first comment) Wow - my new experience with this Mysapce thing - is quite a bummer. Other than the musical aspect of it - I am really not impressed. It was a cool thing that basically my coworkers and I spoke on, and we made a theatre group to chat abou mergers, etc. Now it just seems to be going to hell with all of their video stuff, and too many bands. I personally am there to still chat with people I have stuff in common with and my old school friends. Its good for that because everyone I know has one. And didn't that happen rather quickly in the last several months? A year ago, there were no problems at all, except for the minor inconvenience of regular maintenance from 2:00am - 6:00am every Sunday when they were down and had Pac-Man on the home page for you to play. Now they're accomodating the population of the entire Internet community, and then some. (I, myself, have three profiles/accounts.) I put a song (if you can call it that) by Negativland up just because I was surprised they actually had it available, but you have to hit Play to hear it.
