50 years ago this week, The Sound of Music opened at the Rivoly Theater in NYC and went on to a 93-week run there. My dad was the music editor on that flick - he took us to see it when it began its southern California run a week later:

I drove by there, and from the highway you could see they had a walmart sized parking lot full of consoles and platters. completely full. Hundreds and hundreds of them. This was a year or two ago. I couldn't stop at the time, but then could never find it again even after a few special trips.

Breathtaking sunset at Lakeport Auto Movies in Lakeport California on June 27, 2015. We are treated to beautiful sunsets on almost a nightly basis, but tonights was one of the most spectacular I have ever seen. Everywhere you looked people had their cameras out to capture the spectacle.
