I didn't think of it till I saw your comment, Mike, but it seems that now, almost every print I get is shipped in new, or almost new "real" reel shipping cases, and not those horrible plastified corrugated box-things they were using for the last decade or so.
Also, I notice most of them are on actual plastic reels, and not those super cheap split-reels a lot of the studios were using for a long time.
I have no idea who made this print, since I could not find any lab ID info anywhere on the print or leaders.
The only negative (no pun intended) thing I've noticed is that on the last two prints I've received, whoever packaged them was really cheap on the amount of tape they used to hold down the ends of the film leaders. My last two features, but especially this one, arrived with the leaders loose and badly intertangled inside the cans.
It took a bit of careful effort to extract and untangle them without doing any damage.
. . . now, if only they'd go back to using paper reel-bands....
