If you read the rules, you'll note that aliases and phony locations are prohibited. People like this guy with no life do fall through the cracks sometime. He is posting from Florida and I don't know what it is about that place (maybe it's the heat), but people...or just one very lonely guy...like this tend to live there, as virtually every account we have had to ban or block the IP of is posting from that state. It is disappointing that fingers are pointed at the moderators before anyone even bothers dropping me an email to find out if it is some sort of joke or if it simply has not yet been seen. It was opened in 1976 as the first multiplex in Goldsboro by the Stuart & Everett chain, and has been ran and operated by Carmike Cinemas since the early 80'sAfter 30+ years serving the community it's closing on my watch. I personally think the problem is bad booking. They constantly tried to book us like an art house. The theatre was running IN THE BLACK and Carmike is closing it? Some locations I have heard of (a mall theatre in Tulsa that UA once owned) NEVER made a profit and remained in operation until the lease ran out. Then there's the issue of Carmike trying to go "all digital." Carmike has quite a few second run/bargain locations in North Carolina -including the Berkeley 4. I anticipate very few of Carmike's 2nd run locations will be converted to digital cinema. The company may be looking to unload theaters it cannot convert. A subrun doing fewer than 100,000 patrons a year. When Carmike bought out Stewart & Everett the got the building and the land. I still stick by us having bad bookers as the reason. Well, that and the company fought me tooth and nail on every single improvement i wanted to make that would increase attendance.  |  IP: Logged
