The REGAL owned Inlet Square location has closed. The last day of business was this past Sunday if I'm not mistaken.

MURRELLS INLET -- Regal Inlet Square 12, the movie theater attached to Inlet Square mall, will close Sunday, because the mall's stalled renovation has hurt its business, a company spokesman said.
"We regret that our landlord's announced improvements to the mall have not come to fruition," said Russ Nunley, vice president of marketing and communications for Regal Entertainment Group. "Regal has terminated the lease due to the negative impact on our business from the stalled renovation project for the mall."
Inlet Square mall has been under construction since late 2007, when a $4.5 million renovation stopped abruptly.
Theater employees were notified of the closure at a meeting last Sunday, Nunley said.
Workers at Regal Inlet Square 12 and Inlet Square mall manager Heather Gray declined comment.
Inlet Square staff have been offered jobs at another Regal movie theater, the Swamp Fox 14 in Florence, Nunley said. He said some of the theater managers have accepted the offer and will transfer.
The Grand 14 at The Market Common will now be the closest movie theater for residents on the south end of the Grand Strand, but Inlet's closure will not have a major effect on that Myrtle Beach theater, a spokeswoman said.
"We get a lot of customers from Murrells Inlet, and I think we get a lot of customers from all over the Grand Strand, especially at our movie theater, so I don't think it will," The Market Common spokeswoman Hatton Gravely said.
In August, Regal Cinemas Inc., which owns the Regal Inlet Square 12, was sued by Inlet Retail Associates, the former owner of Inlet Square mall, for six months of unpaid rent.
The suit said the theater had failed to pay $296,744.76 in rent, fees and expenses since March 1.
Nunley declined to comment on the case because it is still pending.
In the complaint, Inlet Retail Associates said, "it is unjust and inequitable for Regal to occupy space and run its business within Inlet Square Mall but not compensate Inlet Retail for this benefit."
According to court documents, the company gave Regal Cinemas written notice concerning its failure to pay the monthly rent and received no payment in return.
Inlet Retail Associates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March and the case closed Nov. 25, according to documents from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in South Carolina. In September, Murrells Retail Associates, an entity within the Philadelphia-based RAIT Partnership, became the owner of the Murrells Inlet mall.
Inlet Square mall entered into a lease agreement with Litchfield Theatres in February 1989, and after Litchfield Theatres and Regal Cinemas merged in 1997, Regal was named as a tenant at the mall.
Regal Entertainment Group is the largest movie theater company in the United States.
The company's theaters, which include Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres and Edwards Theatres, operates 6,768 screens in 548 locations in 39 states.

It seems as if the foxmoor 7 theater in the Pokonos which was operted by Norman Aide in PA was closed in December. It is now re-opened under new ownership.
Pokono Record
Movies are back at the Foxmoor Village Mall starting Friday. The theater has been closed since early December when former operator Norman Adie was evicted for failure to pay rent for a year.
The new operator, Vermont state Sen. Kevin J. Mullin, said he learned about the location from his film buyer.
"I went down and looked at the site. The mall is aesthetically pleasing. It's hard to believe the place is vacant," said Mullin, who has been in the movie theater business since 1981.
"It seems to have a fairly murky history," Mullin said. "The theater had been vandalized. A lot of things were taken out," including the sound system, every lens, complete projectors were removed from theaters two and three, and the brains of the platters, which regulate film speed, were taken out of the projector booths.
"There are a lot of missing pieces that have to be put together," Mullin said.
He has heard stories of a badly run theater, but he is looking forward with optimism.
"The demographics for the area are right for a theater. I know when people go to resorts they want to do something at night. I'm confident the theater is going to do well," Mullin said.
He has cleaned the property and even replaced long-missing mirrors in the men's and women's bathrooms.
The Theater's new name is Poconos Movieplex. A Web site with showtimes is already online: www.poconosmovieplex.com.
There is another new name. Dr. Ram Rayasam, mall owner, has renamed the Foxmoor to Pocono Square.
"Good news is coming for that place," Rayasam said, adding there are agreements pending with a couple of national tenants.
A Nov. 14 fire destroyed a free-standing building in the front of the property.
"God gives you opportunities. I was very upset by the fire, but it has opened up the place," Rayasam said.
Instead of a circle of store fronts all facing inward at the courtyard, the mall is now a horseshoe formation. Store fronts can be seen from Route 209 and work to attract shoppers.
"We are hoping for better days. It's not going to happen overnight but there is a chance for it," Rayasam said.

New Westminster, B.C. Developers have reached the construction phase of a major retail complex that will merge with New Westminster SkyTrain Station, some four years after the project was first unveiled, but New Westminster Mayor Wayne Wright says the development has already transformed the location.
Known as Azure Plaza 88, it will be a 1.2-million-square-foot, mixed-use development that Wright wants to be “the catalyst for the opening of our city,” and which TransLink considers the template for integrating development into its transportation network.
An early benefit: The addition of residential development virtually on top of New Westminster Station has helped drive the drug dealing and other crime away from the formerly notorious trouble spot, and it is being heralded as the epitome of transit-oriented urban development.
“When I say crime has fallen off, it has disappeared,” Wright said in an interview Wednesday following the unveiling of new details of the $250-million Plaza 88.
With three condominium towers gracing the site, Wright said enough people now live nearby that the “hangers-out” who brought the drug trade to the station no longer feel comfortable there.
“I don’t know where they’ve gone, but they’re not here any more,” Wright said.
“It’s just a matter of more people, more feet, more eyes, more good people [being there] and that’s what happens.”
Wright helped developer Michael Degelder unveil the roster of retailers that will lease the 200,000 square feet of retail space.
A Safeway store is in the works along with a Shoppers Drug Mart, Royal Bank, CIBC, a 10-screen digital, 3-D capable Landmark Cinemas Theatre, a Westland Insurance branch, dental clinic, news stand and liquor store.
Fast food outlets such as Subway, A&W and the Bread Garden have signed on as well to complement what Degelder envisioned as a “service-retail” centre, and not a “fashion outlet.”
