One in Place Ste Foy or Place Laurier, both major malls in Quebec City One in Gatineau. Roosevelt Road in Chicago, IL. The opening should be sometime in the next few weeks - before Christmas. ALSO: The Kerasotes Glen 10 in Glenview, IL (you can see pictures here listed under "Crown Glenview 10") just swapped out auditorium #5's 35mm projector for a Barco DP1500.  |  IP: Logged Kurt Zupin Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 989 From: Maricopa, Arizona Registered: Oct 2004 posted 12-13-2009 10:24 PM                     This is a few days old now, but Harkins Theatres has aquired the Arizona Mills IMAX location. This location sits in the same mall as Harkins Theatres Arizona Mills 24. It will be absored into AM24 and now become Arizona Mills 25 with IMAX. It's been closed for renovations leading up to AVATAR's midnight showing on Thursday. On a side note, I've been asked to move to this location and help run the IMAX booth.  |  IP: Logged Jesse Skeen Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1517 From: Sacramento, CA Registered: Aug 2000 posted 12-13-2009 11:58 PM                     Don't know how I missed this, but Cinema West just opened a new theater in Folsom this weekend called the Palladio- 16 screens, all with DLP- in fact their website proudly states "We don't project film!" I may have to go check it out soon, but I don't know if I can bring myself to shell out $10.25 for a ticket. For that price ALL the screens had better be at least IMAX size. The company brags about cell phone use being prohibited in their theaters and that they STRONGLY discourage bringing small children or infants to anything rated higher than PG, but they also have on-screen advertising so they can't be that great a company. Screen ? Seating ? Prices in general are out of hand though- I'm a cheap bastard, but not too cheap to drive farther for a better presentation so go figure. This is operated by Movie Palace Theatres, Inc, who like to think they do a classic "palace" decor that usually comes down to faux styrofoam column accents. I used to be in communication with the owner several years ago, and he's a decent enough guy who puts some thought into his equipment (Mark G is well acquainted with his builds), but the kids he hires to operate them are half-past worthless and put on some of the worst presentations in the industry. Barco projectors, Dolby servers. The two largest screens are 57x30, top masked. The smaller screens are not too shabby either, for the location.
