A bookstore featured special events for children and families.

A fisherman from the city was out fishing on a lake in a small boat. He noticed another man in a small boat open his tackle box and take out a mirror. Being curious the man rowed over and asked, "What is the mirror for?"

"That's my secret way to catch fish," said the other man. "Shine the mirror on the top of the water. The fish notice the spot of sun on the water above and they swim to the surface. Then I just reach down and net them and pull them into the boat."

"Wow! Does that really work?"

"You bet it does."

"Would you be interested in selling that mirror? I'll give you $30 for it."

"Well, okay."

After the money was transferred, the city fisherman asked, "By the way, how many fish have you caught this week?"

"You're the sixth." he said. [Big Grin]

While fishing an old rock quarry, I noticed SCUBA divers were diving at the other end of the pond. When I hooked a fish one of the divers came over to watch me fight it.

After about ten minutes my line became hung. I was about to break the line when the diver said he would go down and see what I was hung up on. So in he went.

After several minutes he came up and said, "Man... you've hooked the biggest catfish I ever saw! Why, its as big as a man. But there are some old cars down there and it went inside one and hung you up."

"Well," I said, " Why don't you take a stick and drive it out of the car?"

"I tried," he said, "but each time I poked at him with the stick, he rolled the window up!" [Big Grin]

Panting and perspiring, two men on a tandem bicycle at last got to the top of a steep hill. “That was a stiff climb,” said the first man.

“It certainly was,” replied the second man.

“And if I hadn’t kept the brake on, we would have slid down backward.” [Big Grin]

My quiet Saturday morning ended abruptly when my 15-year-old son, Billy, and one of his friends burst through the door. "Hey Dad, announced Billy, "have you met the new neighbors?"

"No."

"Come on Dad, you have to meet them."

"Some other time; I'm busy."

"Dad, you have to meet them now."

From the urgency in Billy's voice, I assumed the neighbors were waiting outside. I set aside my project and went to the front of the house. No one was there. "Where are they?" I asked.

"Well, Dad," he explained, "we haven't met them yet either, but our baseball is in their living room!" [Big Grin]

Coach Jones called the young lad in from center fielf during a little league game for a conference.

"See here Larry," said the coach, "you know the principles of good sportsmanship that the little league practices. You also know we don't tolerate temper tandrums, shouting at the umpire, or abusive language. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes Sir," replied Larry.

"Well, then Larry," sighed Coach Jones, "would you please try to explain it to your mother?" [Big Grin]
