Maverik manages to be a few cents cheaper..3.099 .. I am lead to believe over 60% of that sale price is made up from govt charges and taxes. The Cheapest petrol in the entire metro area of Perth was $4.64 a gallon, or $1.23 a litre. I saw on t.v. Friday that crude is $10. lower now than it was last year this time yet the retail is significantly higher. We must be getting screwed by the fat cat commodities traders. America needs to learn that they can't take their living room on the road...they need to adjust..or at least help out. (But, "OH" this is what the auto dealers are really pushing for since both the factory and the dealers make huge banks on these vehicles...not the econoboxes and captive imports..) Another wrench in this machinery IMO, is that the availability of buyin a new car on the whim with the usage of leases which can gives practically anyone the power to get a new vehicle..and with this, the industry pumps out the cars, dealers really raking in the dough and the world is flooded with cars that is gobbling up our resourses at an alarming rate. The pride of ownership has almost all but diminished - now just a throwaway and recycle society. Before Easter there weren't many places round here at over 92p a litre for standard 95 octane unleaded: now it's around 97p (equivalent to $8.32 for a US gallon) at most of the local filling stations. I'm not sure why this hasn't attracted much in the way of media coverage: the last time petrol prices were nudging towards a pound a litre was in the summer of 2005, and it became a significant political issue then. Getting my car converted to run on LPG in November 2004 has turned out to be one of the best investments I ever made. Based on the differential between LPG and petrol prices then, I worked out that the conversion would take around 30-35k miles to cover its costs. That differential got significantly bigger almost as soon as the LPG kit was installed (petrol was around 87p a litre at the time, LPG around 40p), and I've now done 53k miles since the conversion.  |  IP: Logged Stephen Furley Film God Posts: 3059 From: Coulsdon, Croydon, England Registered: May 2002 posted 05-07-2007 04:51 PM                     Leo, do you have any problems finding fuel for it. It's not something that I'm looking out for, but I seldom seem to see LPG signs outside filling stations.
