Author Topic: Gas Prices in your area Mark Gulbrandsen Resident Trollmaster Posts: 16657 From: Music City Registered: Jun 99 posted 07-31-2007 08:34 PM                     Its interesting to note the last two days going across Nevada and California that gas prices in both these states is way less than in Utah. Normally its the other way round. In the LA area the cheapest I've found is 2.749 a gallon... Nevada is a little higher but not much. Utah is still around 2.899 per gallon. For more than a month 87 octane fuel has been up over $3.00 per gallon. The price peaked at over $3.20 in early July. It fell to $2.99 a few days ago and now rests at $2.89. It doesn't catch everything, but will underline anything you type in red it doesn't understand. Just about any time I or any local friends head to the Oklahoma City area we usually observe gas prices being at least 10 cents lower than prices in Lawton. It's rare for OKC area prices to be the same or higher. Lately the difference has been 20 cents. It's been up near $2.90 since Spring but recently began to decline. Of course, my truck takes about $78 to completely fill the tank, and I'm not going cycle my credit card again. I've found in various spots around Phoenix and Mesa as cheap as 2.60. What's really odd is that oil has supposedly risen to it's highest cost, but yet the cost of gas keeps dropping bit by bit. What gives? Does it show that the panic mark ups of $3+ a gallon some months back (when oil was the same or slightly lower than it is now) were total BS (thank you, you speculators!)? You know you are abused when you FEEL GOOD about paying more than $1.75/gallon.
