Yesterday, we were in Sundance, Wyoming -- very small town, 1100 people, saw three different gas stations with prices of $2.279, $2.399, and $2.489. When the weather is good I try to ride my bike to work several times a week if not every day. It's about 4 miles and a pleasant ride mostly along the Willamette River bikepaths. The killer is riding home though. I've never seen LPG as low as 29p: there's a place in Scarborough which does it for around the 34 mark, but as I very rarely go there (only to visit a friend, probably around two or three times a year), it's not worth making the detour just for that.  |  IP: Logged Pete Naples Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1565 From: Dunfermline, Scotland Registered: Feb 2001 posted 08-07-2005 05:24 AM                     Falkirk isn't really close to Aberdeen, however it is close to Grangemouth refinery, but I've always found that doesn't equate. Shell garage at Kincardine Bridge is almost within peeing distance of Grangemouth and is one of the most expensive around! There's a couple of other LPG sites in the Falkirk area, perhaps it's a way of getting all the trade?  |  IP: Logged Dave Macaulay Film God Posts: 2321 From: Toronto, Canada Registered: Apr 2001 posted 08-07-2005 09:13 AM                     Well, luckily enough I live in the middle of one of Toronto's price war zones, so we generally have the lowest prices in the area right on the corner. "Lowest" means little when it's still ridiculously expensive. If there's a lineup at the cheapest place I can go next door and pay about $1.00 a tank less (2%) and not wait at all. When I see some idiot driving around in a Hummer, getting 7 miles to the gallon, (Going downhill) my blood boils! Why should some asshole be allowed to use FIVE TIMES MORE GAS than me and get away with it, simply because he can afford it!? My car gets 30 miles to the gallon. If I drive conservatively and shift at the right points I can milk it out to 35 MPG. Gas hogs only make the price of fuel more expensive for everybody else!  |  IP: Logged
