I have been collecting posters for many years and have never seen a poster for 2010 which references 70MM.

This confirms a post from the CDS Theatres threat about a possible CDS installation in Columbus, OH. Cinemark Movies 12 shows the film screening in a THX room with no mention of CDS. 70mm prints were shown at GCC Northland 8 and AMC Dublin Village 10 (now 18). This was the only 70mm film screened at Dublin Village.

Here's the 70mm GWTW ad from a Dallas Morning News Supplement Oct. 20, 1967.

Sorry I couldn't get it more flat, but the paper is old & fragile - didn't want to chance it getting torn by putting it in the scanner.

That ad appears to confirm both the CGG Northpark and UA Prestonwood theater having THX at the time Return of the Jedi opened. Too bad both of those theaters are long gone.

The notation for 70mm would not have been on the one-sheet posters for that movie. Very few movie posters from the 1970s and 1980s made any mention about 70mm.

However, I can say I've seen 70mm listed in the newspaper "stack ads" for 2010. I can't remember how many theaters in New York City played the movie in 70mm (it's been a really long time since I've seen the NY Times microfilms), but I do remember at least a few theaters running it in 70mm.

My one sheet for Raise the Titanic mentions 70mm in selected theaters.

Thanks Tom. I forgot I still had it.
The only other thing I ran across was the ticket stub from GCC Northpark's showing of the Original Star Wars Trilogy in 1985, but no mention of 70mm on that.

I also miss both the Northpark GCC & UA Prestonwood as well as the countless others theaters in the DFW area that are long gone now.

Three in Manhattan plus about a dozen in the surrounding areas.

Right, I knew the Trilogy was presented in 70mm in 1985, it just doesn't mention that on the ticket stubs I have is all. So that's why I didn't post a pic of the stubs in this thread.
