The 70mm version, which I saw in 1978, was stunning. Ayakawa Film God Posts: 2738 From: Waipahu, Hawaii, USA Registered: Aug 2002 posted 06-06-2011 09:36 PM                        Beside seeing STAR WARS in 70mm at Honolulu's Cinerama Theatre, I also saw it in San Francisco at the Coronet Theatre in that format because my local theatre was showing it in 35mm at the time. The theatre was packed and the house was filthy because it looked like it was not cleaned at all during the entire day. The carpet on the floor was squishy from split soda and residue from snacks such as popcorn and candy was clearly visible. It was different at the Cinerama, The theatre always looked great at all time and I still miss that theatre very much.
