Not an hour goes by when I am at work where I answer the phone to get asked what's playing or what time something is playing. Now, we have an automated phone system that you need to press 0 in order to speak to a live person, and said recording starts off with "For a list of films playing and showtimes, press 1." They cannot spend ten or fifteen seconds listening to a list of titles we are currently playing (strangely enough, the majority of questions about what we are playing or what time it starts in any given week is usually the first movie listed on the list of titles we are currently playing). How much are my tickets? Why, that's on the system too. And if it's Tuesday, you can imagine how many calls there are asking if it's $5.00 Tuesday. And how much tickets are. And how long it lasts. Like, it is all day or only until a certain time. If only that info was on the phone system.
Oh wait. It is.
People are just too lazy and/or self-absorbed to spend ten or fifteen seconds listening. They want the info and they want the info NOW!
And then there's the special breed of customer who wants me to list off all the movie we are playing. 14 screens, often with at least one split screen. "We're playing 15 movies this week. Is there a specific movie you're looking for?" "No." "Okay, we are playing Movie 1, Movie 2, Movie 3... Movie 14 and Movie 15." "Oh. Aren't you playing Movie You Didn't Mention?"
Grrrrrrrr.
