As a recent high-school graduate,I traveled to our state capitol
and got to visit the house floor.

While I stood there, thinkinghow difficult it must be for the people in that room to wrestle with important decisions that affect so many citizens,I spied sitting on one representative's desk a Magic 8-Ball. [Big Grin]

"Oh, my God.Did you see Dean's speech last night? Oh, my God. Now I hear the cows in Iowa are afraid of getting 'Mad Dean' disease."

-- Jay Leno

"Let me tell you something -- hey, believe me,I'm no pundit.I'm
no expert in politics, but I think it's a bad sign when your
speech ends with your aide shooting you with a tranquilizer gun."

-- Jay Leno

"Good news today for Howard Dean's wife.Looks like she's finally going to get some of that privacy she wanted."

-- Jay Leno

"You folks see the Iowa caucuses the other night? How many of you saw the Howard Dean speech? Did you see Howard Dean ranting and raving? How many of you got to see that? Here's a little tip,Howard.Cut back on the red bull."

-- David Letterman

"Howard Dean has been like the frontrunner and then last night he finishes a distant third in Iowa. Here's what happened. This is the way it works. The people in Iowa realized that they didn't want a president with the personality of a hockey dad."

This morning on the radio I heard excerpts of Senator John
Edwards' speech to his supporters after finishing second in the
Iowa caucuses:

"You and I will build together. We will say 'no' to kids going to bed hungry, 'no' to kids who don't have the clothes to keep them warm, and 'no' to Americans working full time and living in
poverty."

I thought that's what Democrats have been accusing Republicans of saying to these people for years? [Big Grin]

The Founding Fathers were sitting around a table in 1776, working on the Constitution. It had been a long day when Thomas Jefferson said,"Whew! It's getting rather warm in here, isn't it?"

Ben Franklin replied, "Shall I open the window?"

"No, that's alright. I'll just take off my jacket, and roll up my sleeves."

"Hey, that's a good idea. Why don't we include that in the
Constitution?"

"What? That we're allowed to take our jackets off and roll up our sleeves while we work?"

"Yeah, but that doesn't sound very smooth. How about 'Everyone shall have the right to bare arms'?" [Big Grin]

Al Sharpton is visiting a primary school and he visits one of the classes. They are in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.

The teacher asks the Rev Sharpton if he would like to lead the discussion of the word "tragedy."

So the illustrious leader asks the class for an example of a "tragedy."

One little boy stands up and offers: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a runaway tractor comes along and knocks him dead, that would be a tragedy." "No," says the Great Al Sharpton," that would be an accident."

A little girl raises her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy." "I'm afraid not," explains the exalted spiritual leader. "That's what we would call a great loss."

The room goes silent. No other children volunteer. Rev. Sharpton searches the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally at the back of the room a small boy raises his hand. In a quiet voice he says: "If a plane carrying the Rev. Sharpton were struck by a missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaims Sharpton,"That's right. And can you tell me why that would be tragedy?"

"Well," says the boy,"because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss and it probably wouldn't be an accident either." [Big Grin]

Subject: A test

MORALLY, WHERE DOST THOU STAND?

With all your honor and dignity what would you do?This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought.By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and consider each line - this is important for the test to work accurately.

YOUR TEST

You're in Florida...In Miami,to be exact...There is great chaos going onaround you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods.......There are huge masses of water all over you.... You are a CNN photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.

You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and peoplefloating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destroying power and is ripping everything away with it.

You see a woman in the water; she is fighting for her life, trying not to be
taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer.
Somehow the woman looks familiar.

Suddenly you know who it is - it's Hillary Clinton!

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her away, forever.

You have two options. You can save her or you can take the best photo of your life.

So you can save the life of Hillary Clinton, or you can shoot a PulitzerPrize winning photo --- a unique photo displaying the death of one of thecountry's most powerful women.

And here's the question: (Please be honest)

Would you select color film, or rather go with the simplicity of classic black and white? [Big Grin]

What Are Politics?

A kid goes to his dad and asks, "Dad, what are politics?"
His dad replies, " Put it this way; I am the breadwinner of the family so I am capatilism. Your mom is the owner of the money so she is government. The government is the provider for the people so you are the people. Your baby brother will be the future, and the nanny is the working class. Now think about that."

So he went to bed. He was woken by his brother. The baby had pooped in his daiper. He went to tell his parents, but he only found his mom asleep in the bed. He didn't want to wake her, so he went to the nanny. The door was locked. He checked through a hole and saw the dad in bed with the nanny. He went back to bed. The next morning, he went to his dad and said, "Dad i know what you mean now."

"You do? Tell me."

"OK, while capatilism is screwing the working class, the government is sound asleep, while the people are watching the future being pooped on!!!"
