I'm glad you could join us! I watch over Nick as he does his daily duties here at the Promenade Cinema 14. Nick never saw a projector until about 2 months ago and you would have thought that he has been using one his whole life. It's amazing how much he has learned in such a short time. He may not know all the correct terminoligy but while working with these new Apogee's he's had to put up with more than most of us had to on our first journey through a booth. Give him good advice. My extent in this business is the web guy for the locally-owned circuit in Newberg, OR, creator of the long-gone "The Evil Sam's Drive-In Theatre Guide" and "tesg's DRIVE-IN PICTURE SHOW" web sites, and occasional childhood "help out lackey" of the Coliseum Theatre in Ketchikan, Alaska (still owned to this day by the very aptly-named 'Gross Alaska Theatres', who never even THOUGHT about closing the theatre when somebody's pet python escaped and was said to have been seen slithering around in there). I actually did apply at both our local Century and our local Cinemark when they were under construction. Cinemark even interviewed me, but never called. It probably would have ended tragically anyway. Maybe someday I'll move back to Oregon and work for Brian. In the mean time, I work for a wireless telco where I do everything from write the training manuals for the billing systems to show up in court and say "Yes, this call record shows that this customer called that customer just before he shot him dead in front of the junior high school kids who were waiting for the bus." My web stuff is now limited to the NEWBERG Movies Online page and the occasional contribution to cinematour, which often ends up being moot because Adam and Scott already photographed said theatres and just haven't posted their pictures yet. I've been an infrequent and occasional reader of this forum. Brad was the one who suggested I register because he thought my movie review page on my personal website was funny. So I'll post my movie reviews, which are rarely about the actual movie in the first place. They tend to focus on the experience of attending said movie. And I'll do it in more detail here probably. In Iowa, one is never more than 10 minutes away. Edit: There is some place here in Des Moines that WILL dump a chocolate malt on your head, although the name escapes me. But, if you want to come by my place, I'd be more than willing to dump a chocolate malt on your head(although there may be a little bit more than chocolate in it...), and I won't even make you pay for it.  |  IP: Logged
