I guess I'll update my "Who the Heck are You" at this time because I don't think I ever updated after I left TBC: Sept. 1, 1981 (24 years in September!) to Present: Manchester Manor, Inc. (Family Owned)Assisted Living Facility Vice-President of Operations Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02860 August 2, 1991 to June 25, 2004: (12 Years, 10 months, 23 days) Tri-Boro Cinemas Assistant Manager: Tri-Boro Cinemas North Attleboro, Massachusetts 02703 June 25, 2004 to October 14, 2004 (approximetly 10:00 p.m.) (lol)(3 months, 13 days and 22 hours) Tri-Boro Cinemas Manager: Tri-Boro Cinemas North Attleboro, Massachusetts 02703 Now that that's completed: Rachel, I shouldn't say that leaving TBC was "THE" best thing I ever did, I should have said "one of best" things I ever did. I loved working there, I loved the people I worked with and the job I was doing. I would not have stayed as long as I did, if I didn't like doing it. Working two jobs was way too much for me to even think about doing, never mind actually working from 7 a.m. to well after midnight trying to work both jobs and then being asked to work "more hours"(?!)and be told that "I need to choose which job I really want to do"..For me, Family is FIRST AND THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING TO ME..everything else is second.. It was IMPOSSIBLE to put in more hours, especially when "corporate morons" (as Tom put it) could come in the next week and close the place,not to mention that "THEY" will not spend one dime on fixing the place. I'll bet that everything that needed fixing when I was there, still hasn't been fixed and will never be fixed. I remember when we had "Finding Nemo" in #10 when It was raining and telling people it was part of the movie that the water was coming down the wall because they would never fix the roof..I could go on for days ranting.. but I won't.. Rachel, I just wish that a year ago you were available so that with your help we could have improved TBC and made it something to be proud of instead of some run down, tired movie theatre that it is today and will always be. The theater has changed a lot since you've been there, we're cleaning the place up, painting, we got rid of the outside box office stations (since they didn't want to use it)... It's getting better, I've gotten lots of compliments from our regular customers, you should really come visit. Of course the roof is the big issue, as it is in a lot of theaters I've worked for in the past...its such a big cost! So I'm currently getting price quotes for the roof, to get the rugs cleaned, and to repave the parking lot (love those potholes!), we'll see how it goes. As for as the booth goes I just purchased Brads Film-Tech platter rings (to hopefully help prevent the prints from being thrown in 11&12), next order comes the long awaited film cleaners... The company has changed a lot since you've been there, they have restructured at the home office and we actually have a new DM now, your past DM is still with the company but they split the theaters between two DMs now, it seems to be working out pretty good. Come for a visit, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done but we're getting there! I think the penny pinching is just a theater thing, I've always worked in older buildings (I like it that way) that need a lot of work, everywhere I've worked most of the stuff has to be done in-house...I guess I'm just used to it. Ok, so I guess this is my update. I'm the GM for Triboro Cinemas in N. Attleboro, MA (formally Paul's theater). Working on fixing up the place. It's getting better, I've gotten lots of compliments from our regular customers, you should really come visit If you can keep your Regular customers then you have a great customer base especially with Showcase on the other side of town. How many other "independant" theaters can say that they survived in the same town as a National Amusements theatre?, not many, I'm sure.. And I will visit, I promise. to get the rugs cleaned .. I had the rugs cleaned last September, I think it was, and they were suppose to clean them every 6 months. I don't know if you talk to Angelo K. but he is the one who arranged it for me last year. prints from being thrown in 11&12 .. I don't remember the prints being thrown in 11& 12?, I'll have to ask Larry, who was the projectionist when I was there. The company has changed a lot since you've been there, they have restructured at the home office ..THANK GOD! we actually have a new DM now ..Jimmy Incerpi is a really nice guy, easy to get along with. His mom used to run the snack Bar at the Rustic and his Dad actually worked for "the company"..They live right up the street from me! Great People! your past DM is still with the company but they split the theaters between two DMs now :X THANK GOD! Rachel, I know you are doing your best and I know if anyone can turn TBC around, it is YOU. I wish you and TBC The best and as always, if I can help in some way, Please let me know.. And finally..
