I'm Dom Deezy fo' sheezy, in the projeezy beezy...err.. Dominic Espinosa. Been the booth manager for Cinema West Theaters' Los Banos Cinemas for a year and lovin' it. See my original response to this thread for more information. I collect trailers, posters, standees, banners, window clings, buttons, etc. anything I can get my hands on. In addition, I'd collect features but I havn't got anywhere to get them, no money for them, or a screening room (yet). My car sucks, it steals my money. Of all the people on this site I've met Aaron Sisemore (he's our chief) and briefly Scott Neff and played a rack of pool last year at the C.W. xmas party with Michael Wilkinson. I left there a while ago, but you can't have a projection-obsession and just leave it be. in the meantime, I work at World Talk Radio as an executive producer. I work with a few film based talk shows to appease my trauma at leaving the projection/theater world. and my real fun i guess, is watching movies with the Olpin8er. that's it for now. I drive a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and am hoping to paint it soon. I have a reel interest in film though. I have a 16mm screening room setup with multiple projectors, etc. I have a film club in my home town and we bring movies in through a non-theatrical distributor. Mostly old flicks as they stopped bringing in new 16mm prints in December 2002. I would love the opprotunity to check out the booth of a real theater though. I stumbled upon film tech through eFilm Forum. This is a very cool site by the way. To sum me up, by night I am a "film enthusiast" by day I am the Operations Manager for a wholesale company. I look forward to delving deeper into the world of film. Hopefully before it is corrupted with digital projection. I miss Dallas, where i was raised. Pleasant Grove was my hood, and Bryan Adams was my school Getting married this June, and excited. I like all movies, and love being a projectionist. I hope to one day move up on my status as projectionist. Registered: Jun 2005 posted 06-12-2005 01:52 AM                     Wow this thread is great it makes me feel like I know some of you already. Well, my name is Paul. I am a U.S. Marine that is currently deployed to Iraq. I used to be a GM for Carmike and then Regal Cinemas. I also worked for a company called Cinetech doing ugrades and repairs. I have about 5 years experience in the Management end of the house and have managed a total of 9 theatres in PA,MD, AL, and VA. I loved the theatre buisiness and have always loved movies but I felt a calling to defend our country. I enlisted in march of 2001 prior to 9/11 and will get out of the service this coming march after my 5 year hitch. I am an aviation radio repairman(5937). I setup and repair radio systems that talk to ground and air assets of the US military. Most of the work I do is just signal troubleshooting but sometimes I get to do component level repairs and fiber optic splicing/repairs. I'd love to get back into the biz when I get out but I don't know with who. I'm also interested in the possibility of becoming a tech. Anybody know any good companies or contacts??
