Three locks in two weeks. At about $14.00 USD a lock I'm beginning to get a little pissed. I mean, "What The Fuck?" I'd also like to see them create a pair of men's shorts with one of those universal DON'T symbols (the circle with a line thru it) and in the circle a picture of a penis....a HUGE penis and a set of big hairy bull balls and under it the words, "Don't touch my junk, perverts." It's a little less intellectual than the ammendment and more New Yorker. Paul, do you mean to tell me they won't let you just unlock the locks for them? They cut them off instead? WTF is right. The packing peanuts are to protect the ping pong balls from damage in shipment. Right? Number every ping pong ball with indelible ink. Then, after the case is opened, demand that every last ping pong ball be inventoried and accounted for. The guy who said "If you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested" deserved any trouble he got. Is he such an egotist that he thinks a TSA guy is getting a turn-on by accidentally brushing his ball sack? He should have just cooperated and then he'd have gone on his trip and been fine. The way to deal with the TSA idiocy is by writing your congressmen and getting other people to write. (And promise to not contribute to their re-election campaigns.) Meanwhile I'll be flying off to my destination while you're sitting in a locked room getting a full cavity search. I just think there are better ways to handle it than acting like a jerk, that's all. DID cooperate. He didn't resist or refuse to follow the demands of the TSA officer. All he did was make a statement -- a non-threating, non-agressive one at that -- as to the ciminal status of what the TSA officer was about to do. The TSA was clearly in the wrong here because they did not have the X-Ray machines as an alternative option for him, so it was, get your sag fondled or you don't get on the plane. Was he within his rights to refuse to be gropped? Was he within his rights to EXPRESS his opinion as to the legality of such a personal invasion? Could he have had the agent arrested? No, but what difference does it make. How does stating an opinion get one fined in this country? The fine obviously was punative for his statement. TSA can refuse him passage, but $10,000 for expressing his opinion? Clearly this is the government saying, you sheeple better not get any ideas about even expressing displeasure about what you like or don't like, EVEN IF YOU ARE COMPLYING. You are right, Mike, if you don't want any trouble when they tell you to bend over and hold your ankles, go right ahead and do it. What to get to your destination, better sit in the back of the buss. And you better neven voice your opinion about it either. Yah, yah, I know, they are just doing their jobs....when they tell you to get into those showers. So if you were to say to a TSA agent, WHILE COMPLYING, who tells you he's going to grab your crotch, "You know, I think this is unconstitutional." You be detained and fined $10,000? I'll bet if he'd said the first phrase above, nothing would have happened. Look, I'm not defending the TSA here. It's just a matter of priorities. I know, and you know, that the TSA is a pretty pointless agency. I don't think they've ever found one bomb or even anything threatening, unless you consider nailclippers threatening. (I'm waiting for some jerk to stab somebody with a ballpoint pen sometime...then it will be "No ballpoint pens allowed on airplanes!") But when I'm flying somewhere, I want to get there. I hate the whole airport/airplane process and want to get it over with as fast as possible. If that involves letting somebody pat me down in the name of national security because it makes the government feel like they're doing something, it's no big deal.
