Platter disc? Huh? It was a Strong platter if that is what you are asking.

I'm not sure who makes that. It will wind up to 6000' of film on a core. I presume it's a product of Strong. It's a little wobbly and easily bent, but still does a decent job. The purpose of that being used on that demo video was to show just how smooth and tight the clutch packed the film. (Notice the guy bashing his knuckle into the side of the roll?) With proper winds like that, damage during shipping and cinch marks simply do not happen. [thumbsup]

So...here we go again! Those little green dots on the orange cans mean nothing but trouble. This time, I got two prints of "The Terminal" that had been shown as sneaks.

Previous handler of print #489- you suck. It was bad enough that you taped your heads and tails back on, but did you have to leave that obnoxious yellow tape on the print? It was a bitch to get off.

To make matters worse, you just couldn't resist painting the edge of each head with some sort of yellow marker, and left two reference frames as well. My breakdown guys will have a ball with this one.

The previous handler of print # 463- I was impressed!! Your print was pristine. Good job of reattaching heads and tails with clean tape on one side of the print, which was easy to get off. But alas! [Frown] You also left two reference frames on the heads and tails and painted two feet of each head with some sort of white paint. You are probably a good film handler from the old school (like me), but you need to get with the program and into the 21st century.

To whomever last handled Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2003), print #1917, YOU SUCK!! Although this print has layers and layers of splice tape on the heads and tails, you whom handled it last were the worst offender. There was edge marking tape residue for at least THREE FEET on each tail... Do you not have lights around your booth for tear down? Even the projectionists I know that claim to have difficulty finding reel breaks don't need a halo to tell them when a splice is coming up!
For some reason also, you chose to mark each head, H X REEL X with a marking pencil just before your two ID frames, H1 being misspliced at that. Somehow, on several reels, this pencil was coloring the last foot of soundtrack as well... Why and how did you glob this [bs] on?!

I can't wait to see if my cleaning efforts were worth it or if your excessive residue causes sticky splices that stop my interlock for the movie camp tomorrow. I hope that tape stuck to your fingers, all 15 feet of it. Of course, you left all the residue so I doubt that happened. [Mad]

Before I "out" anyone can someone describe the opening of "King Arthur" for me? We went straight from policy crap to seeing the last few seconds of the main title card. How much was missing?

There was a lot of black film after the attached trailer then it goes straight into the title shot, probably didnt lose much.

I didn't assemble a King Arthur, but I remember Pearl Harbor did that too. Sounds like to me the theater you are about to out (and rightfully so anyway) just rolled down until they saw framelines and whacked it like the good little morons they are.

Well if there was no logo then I would have to see it again elsewhere to see how much, if any, was actually missing before making any claim of bad film handling.

There was about ten to fifteen seconds of black, somewhere in that range.

But how much main title and did it fade up gradually or just pop up for a few seconds fully formed which I think is what I saw.

I believe there was a fade in for about 3 or 4 frames.

There's also music slowly fading up during the black, and going full-force by the time the title fades up.

So who are the culprits?
