I say, dig out that old medieval finger torture machine and USE IT. Then super-glue a grease pencil to this guy's forehead.
You need a cue? Use a grease marker as per Ken, why is this so freakin hard to understand? Why would anyone think they need to permanently mar the emulsion, even with a so-called professional Clint thing? It's unnecessary.
One of the cardinal rules we have in our booths is that we do not make emulsion marks at all, period -- even for cues, even if the print comes with none (usually means it's an EK print, even MORE reason to keep fat little filthy fingers OFF IT). It states in our booth rules, right on the wall, that as a rep house that values every frame of rare prints -- prints that may very well be the only existing of a title -- we would rather the projectionist MISS A CUE and mar the show for 10 seconds for that audience, than mar the experience of that film for all audiences for the rest of the print's lifetime! You missed a cue? bite the bullet and be a man and humble yourself, don't be some sleazy sissy-wuss that your parents would be ashamed of and ruin a print for life, just to protect your sorry ass from having to eat a little crow. You are marching in a parade holding the flag, you come upon a pile of dog poo....you don't break ranks, you STEP IN IT, soldier!
