Today I received a print of "I Love You, Beth Cooper", cycled from "The Great Escape 12" 965 Lycoming Mall Circle, Willamsport, PA.
The leaders & tail pieces were attached with some cheap masking tape that left a sticky residue on the film. I tried to clean it off the best I could but I still had a brain wrap. Luckily, I was standing almost next to my poor Autowind II. I was down for about 5-10 minutes. I cut out the burnt frame, etc. ..I ordered a bottle of Film Gaurd a couple of weeks ago from my tech, but it hasn't come in yet. I sure could have used some today!
Thanks, I feel better now that I've vented. Someday I'll get rid of the platter, & add a second machine.

Thank You Steve! I'm not that far from Maryland. My drive-in is located in Linden, PA. 17744.
I bought a pair of used platter systems from my tech a couple of weeks ago (ORC ..I think they're the Maxi's. Brown, not orange). He delivered them to me after he picked them up at a theatre in Corning, NY, about 90 minutes north of me. He was supposed to come back & install them the next day, but he said that he had an emergency in Ohio. ..Haven't heard from him since. The new equipment is stored along to side wall of my Car-feteria & surounded by stancions & velvet rope. ..Makes a nice display!
I really just need the larger platter in booth 2 to replace the Xetron XNR 335 "mini platter" It only holds about 3 hrs. of film on each platter. I have to stop & thread up the next feature. I hate a dark screen betwwen shows as much as a dj who has dead air between songs!
In booth 1, I'd like to remove the platter ( beat up,rusty, bent, Christe Autowind II) & replace it with a second mach. & do changeovers. There would be room to put the small Xetron platter in there also & I could use the second mach. to run the clock & trs.
I close for the season Labor day. Thanks, again!
