Rated G ...........Becky
My sister had been ill, so I called to see how she was doing. My ten-year-old niece answered the phone.
"Hello," she whispered.
"Hi,honey.How's your mother?"I asked.
"She's sleeping,"she answered,again in a whisper.
"Did she go to the doctor?"I asked.
"Yes.She got some medicine,"my niece said softly.
"Well, don't wake her up.Just tell her I called. What are you doing,by the way?"
Again in a soft whisper, she answered, "Practicing my trumpet."

Rated G .......Frank One morning in my younger years,I was getting ready to leave for work,my daughter(the sweet angel that she is) who was about 11,came running out of her room and gave me a big hug.
As we had had an argument the night before, this kind of surprised and pleased me thinking she had forgiven me.I only lived about five blocks from my work so I always walked instead of driving, not like I do now,get in the car to go across the street to the store.Well,as I was walking along taking my time, other people where coming up from behind and passing me.
Today however, they were exceptionally friendly, looking back and smiling and nodding.I thought to myself, what the heck is going on, and then just shrugged it off and started smiling and nodding back.
By the time I got to work,I was feeling great, all the smiles and friendliness had worked its magic on me.That is until I got inside and one of my co-workers came up behind me and kicked me in the butt and started laughing.
I swirled around and asked him what the heck he was doing and that I didn't think it was so funny. All the other workers were starting to crack up,too and one of them came up and took a big piece of paper off my back.
When my angel of a daughter had come up that morning and gave me a big hug,she had taped a sign on my back.It said,"Please kick me,I was mean to my daughter last night." It's a wonder I hadn't got the shit kicked out of me on the way to work.
