I'm an animator working near San Fransisco, but before this I worked for around 10 years in the Portland, Oregon area. You can read my whole filmography on my website: www.webstercolcord.com I currently work for Electronic Arts doing video game animation, but before this I worked on Matrix: Revolutions and at Dreamworks for about 5 years. I make short films in my spare time. I'm interested in someday owning a movie theater, and I also put on a movie night (16mm) at my son's gradeschool. I was just checking out your site and you seem purty darned good. Seems like mostly stop motion animation. Kick ass. The CG stuff looks good as well. Where's the chalkboard animation? So are you animating the CG scenes for EA or the actual in-game animation? I love video games. -- Edit: I just answered my own question looking at your site.  |  IP: Logged Webster Colcord Film Handler Posts: 23 From: Alameda, California Registered: Oct 2003 posted 10-21-2003 07:42 PM                        Joe- I've been here a little over a year and I've been animating a lot of the bad guys for the "Return Of The King" video game that's coming out in a couple of weeks, and we're doing another game based on the Lord Of The Rings franchise that will come out next year. It's in-game animation, driven by code to react to what the playable characters do. The principles are the same, but it's very different than doing animation for movies. EA is a very big company, and we have a gigantic theater, but wouldn't you know it... they didn't spring for a film projector.  |  IP: Logged Paul Konen Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 981 From: Frisco, TX. Booth Manager - Cinemark Legacy 24, Plano TX Work for another company as my full time position. Been with Cinemark for 5+ years. Started at Tinseltown, also in Plano as an usher. Worked primarily the IWERKS ride on Fri, Sat and Sun. Moved into booth once the ride finally died. Moved over to Legacy about 2 weeks before opening in late June 1999. If your in the area, stop by. My involvement in the theatre business so far has been doing historic preservation and research for the Orpheum in Okmulgee, Ok. It opened in 1920 and has been showing movies ever since. I am currently working on a degree in Anthropology. He certainly is lots of help when we need research done. We're a 1920 theatre that opened with silent movies, pipe organ, and vaudeville. The stage is not usable now, however, because of a steel CinemaScope screen frame that's too heavy to fly. But we plan to change that. We work on restoration to the degree that popcorn sales provide the dough. Plaster replacement, etc. is dear. In 1974, the balcony was enclosed, and converted into a second auditorium. The theatre is far from state of the art, but comes close in the sound department. Each auditorium has Dolby Digital EX. Our customers like the sound of our digital systems better that the ones in the megaplexes in Tulsa, which are not far away. Tonight's bookings are MATRIX REVOLUTIONS and BROTHER BEAR. Both are doing well for a small town. It has a DP75 35/70 projector, but 70mm prints haven't been coming around the past few years. TITANIC was the last picture offered to us in 70. The theatre did present the Oklahoma premiere of BARAKA in 70mm when it was released. As to the pipe organ, it's not finished, but the diapason, marimba, chrysoglott and chimes can be played using a test keyboard. Work on the console is about finished, however. Sorry, I'll pay attention better in the future. I'm Gary Crawford, age 49, full-time projectionist at the Beach Cinema (formerly The Palace), in Bradley Beach NJ, a 520 seat single screen opened in 1925 as a movie house, actually opened in 1915 as a stage and vaudeville venue. We are an independent house and show sub-runs. Nice steady local clientele. We feature two 1938 Super Simplex machines over 1955 Simplex sound heads. We "got modern" with 1970s Christie Xenons and 6000 foot reels. Sound system is Altec-Lansing. Booth was added as an afterthought in 1925 and access is by a steel ladder. One of the few oldtime theatres still in operation around here. I also run satellite transmitter facilities for RCN, putting horse racing on the satellites for simulcasting.  |  IP: Logged
