Posts: 12814 From: Annapolis, MD Registered: Dec 1999 posted 10-10-2009 03:37 PM                     Exactly! Gary was a GREAT flier when he was 0 till about 2. You should have seen the eyes when people saw him in 1st class (cheap upgrade...we didn't book it that way). We could always time his naps for plane rides back then. The compliments we got were amazing...some figured we had drugged him (never did). Then came that awkward time where he wasn't old enough to communicate what was bothering him verbally...it was just crying and his napping was not as frequent. I imposed a NO-FLYING for Gary until he could at least tell us what was hurting so we could tell him how to stop it (swallow or what not). So there was a time of nearly 2-years where he did not fly. It wasn't just for the other passengers but also for him...he was crying because he was in pain or otherwise upset. He is has now returned to flight status and is once again a great flier...but he is also nearly 4. The correct expression is "taken aback" (unless you're talking about a fond memory). Also, you don't pour over the document, you pore over it. There's always Amtrack which in many cases can be alot of fun to travel aboard. The trip from SLC to Denver is especially amazing! Also that idiot the other day who made my soda by filling the ice to OVER the top edge of the cup, filled a few ounces of soda into it, paused to scoop MORE ice into the cup since some of it settled, then half-assed topped it off from there. The movie is going to be hard to see." You see that little itty bitty projector the light is coming from? Thats for the preshow. You see that big honking projector with the big honking lens on the front. That's what your movie is going to be playing on. I just heard on the evening news that we've got a nor'easter headed our way. Now that the cold weather has set in, we are going to have to suffer that really annoying thing they do on newscasts, where the weather geeks all call ANY damn cold snap a "nor'easter." Annoys the hell out of me. First off, what are we, some freakin Maine slang-slinging tug-boat mate with chewing tobacco in his mouth? First off, how lazy are we that we can't pronounce a "th" sound....it's not even a vowel? Or maybe they think it's cool to use sea-farin slang. Too tired or too cool to say "North"? And second, just because the temperature drops, it doesn't mean that it's a storm that comes from Canada and heads east. Since when is slang OK in a professional newscast? This syndrome seems to be more common with "fake and bake" women than dudes. Basically, you're at a party, some other kind of social event or a gathering at someone's house. You spot someone giving off the vibe he is superior to everyone else and insulted that he is having to breathe the same air others are using in that room.
