But why would Starbucks create such an insidiously stupid lid design?

Joe, perhaps you can be the next big lawsuit. First the guy burning himself with McDonalds coffee, then Joe Redifer suffering emotional damage from not receiving his lid blocker from Starbucks..

Sounds like a plan to me..

Even though they know darn well I own the movie theatre, the Boy Scouts come in yearly wanting me to buy 16 ounce cans of popcorn from them for around $7. I have to laugh because we buy 35 POUND bags of the stuff for $12, but I also have to admire their balls for soliciting me, so we usually buy a can or two and dump it in with our regular popcorn.

I was a little annoyed by some stupid behavior I saw at "Wally World" earlier today. Exactly what is it with some people that they have to enter Wal-Mart using the exit doors? What the hell is wrong with the doors labeled "entrance?"

Do these people not know how to read? Are they just plain stupid? Is their eyesight so exceedingly bad they cannot read the 8" tall Helvetica Medium letters that say "EXIT?" Do they think they're somehow more "cool" by doing the opposite of what the sign above the doors suggest? Do they think it is fun to block the path of others trying to leave the store? Are they looking for a fight?

The more time I have to spend inside Wal-Mart means more work my ego and superego has to do in keeping my id from saying or doing something a little harsh. The id gets stronger in its resolve when you're standing in the 20 items or less "express lane" stuck behind someone with a cart filled with a lot more than 20 items. Of course they have to do all sorts of things to drag out the amount of time it takes to complete their transaction. I think some people consider a trip to Wal-Mart a form of entertainment, like I would a trip to Cancun or Las Vegas. They don't want the trip to end! This is compounded if the customer is some rhino sized person riding one of those Wal-Mart scooter things. By the time you're making an escape through the "EXIT" doors the goofy people walking the opposite direction blocking your path could be enough to make you finally lose it. Your id is telling you to use that new shower curtain rod as a club to beat the folks who can't enter through the "entrance" doors. Thankfully the ego and superego have control of your arms and your mouth.

Here's something that doesn't make me go insane, but is kind of annoying:

-Tangled hangers. When I pull my shirts out of the dryer I grab a hanger which is inexplicably tangled with the one next to it. How they get like this, I will never know. Maybe I should invest in some plastic hangers. Or just store my shits on the floor where they belong (not a lot of my closet space is mine any more).

How about the only time you get good service in a supermarket is when you use the automatic checkout, at least it says "please" and "thank you" and "have a nice day", not the usual vacant "I have just worked an 8 hour day on minimum wage" stare, or worse the quickly raised eyebrows followed by "Sup?". Most of the checkout operators can't even bring themselves to speak to you, you can go through the whole transaction without exchanging a single word and when it's all done they knob towards the final total on the till as if to say "pay now and piss off".

And another thing, why is is that people have to bring their entire f**king family to do their grocery shopping, I can't really understand why it is necessary to have your six kids, grandma and your Aunt Agnus who can't hear very well and calls everybody "Sonny" crowded around your trolley and blocking up and entire aisle arguing over what brand of Mayonnaise doesn't give your Uncle Jack gas because at 93 he's developed a nasty case of lactose intolerance. [Mad]

Just get the f**k out of the way and let me get on with it.

Robert, I hear ya. I was at the grocery store later than usual today, just after 5pm, and there were tons of families just loitering around, in front of items I wanted, side by side blocking the entire aisle, dashing out of the aisle to get in front of me and stopping immediately. At least the store actually had the store brand raisin bran this week. Apparently I shop just after all the old people, and there is no way I'm paying an extra buck a box to get the brand name cereal, so I just stocked up for a month. I'd better start doing the same for the store brand prunes.

When did gross obesity become a "legitimate" handicap where the heffers can legally park in the handicap spots and tool around in the store in the scooter?
Wal-Mart IS a fat heffer's paradise, where they literally get shoes, large underpants, new dvd's and Little Debbie snack cakes all under the same roof.
