but the roadshow engagement will overlap with the DCP shorter version til the 8th of January - right?

Nice write-up, thanks for sharing. I wish they'd mention Datasat rather than DTS, as the Datasat crew are working so very hard on this movie and of course DTS is not involved at all, but Datasat's marketing woes are well established I suppose. Datasat prepared not only the soundtrack, but also the French subtitles, projected using the Datasat CSS subtitling system.

One note, the French team talks about 5 speakers behind the screen, but this film has only a 5.1 mix so only the usual LCR screen speakers are used.

Is the "roadshow" version DCP going to be available to any theater that wants to book it? I would rather play that than the standard (presumably intermission-less) version but we won't have our screen available till mid-January, due to some space movie epic clogging up the works. [Big Grin]

Oh wait, I don't want to sound like a bitter old man so scratch that last bit.

Looks like I will have 2 choices in Denver: Regal Continental & AMC Promenade.

I won't be able to see it until the 28th.

Which one will be showing it on a larger screen?
Which one will have scratches on the print by then?
Which one will have trashed the print and replaced it with the DCP by then?

I fear that you're fighting a losing battle on that one. It's like saying that you wish people would switch to calling Allen keys Black and Decker keys: when a brand becomes an eponym, you basically have to print the eponym. It's an occupational hazard of taking over a very successful brand, I guess.

Scott, the other obvious one is the Arclight Hollywood Cinerama Dome, previously mentioned by grumpy old man yours truly, as being the only native 2.76:1 screen in Southern California. But it's great to see that at least Arclight Hollywood is on the list - perhaps once Star Wars is finished with its damage in the Dome, they'll move H8ful there. At least you can be assured that they won't scratch that print. And live to tell about it.

Impressive to see as many SoCal locations on the list, including AMC Burbank and Arclight Sherman Oaks, mostly owing to BLS installs I presume.
