Used Books For Sale

Cards offering used textbooks for sale are posted on the college
notice board at the beginning of each semester.

One read: "Introduction to Psychology, $8, never used." The card
was signed, "Must sell."

The next day a note had been added: "Good price. Are you sure
it's never been used?" Signed, "Prospective buyer."

Below in a different hand was: "Positive!" Signed, "Professor who graded his exam."

It was the first day of school. As the principal made his rounds, he heard a terrible commotion coming from one of the classrooms.

He rushed in and spotted one boy, taller than the others, who
seemed to be making the most noise. He seized the lad, dragged
him to the hall, and told him to wait there until he was excused. Returning to the classroom, the principal restored order and lectured the class for half an hour about the importance of good behavior.

"Now," he said, "are there any questions?"

One girl stood up timidly. " Please sir," she asked," May we have our teacher back?" [Big Grin]

The teacher brings a statue of Venus into class and asks, "What do you like best about it, class? Let's start with you, Robert."

"The artwork," says Robert.

"Very good. And you, Peter?"

"Her tits!" says Peter.

"Peter, get out! Go stand in the hall," responds the teacher with disgust.

"And you, George?"

"I'm leaving, teacher, I'm leaving..." [Big Grin]

"Well, let's see," replied the student."It's Wednesday afternoon.
I guess I'll be on the golf course by now." [Big Grin]

Rated G [Smile] "Physics Saves Lives" ...Billy B.

As a premed student at Washington University in St. Louis, I had to take a difficult class in Physics.

One day our professor was diswcussing a particularly complicated concept. A student rudely interrupted to ask, "Why do we have to learn this stuff?"

"To save lives," the professor responded quickly and continued the lecture.

A few minutes later, the same student spoke up again. "So how does physics save lives?" he persisted.

"It keeps the ignoraqmuses out of medical school," replied the professor. [Big Grin]

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with
her adult's class. After exploring the commandment to "honor thy
father and thy mother," she asked "Is there a commandment that
teaches us how to treat our spouses?"

Without missing a beat one older man answered, Thou shall not
kill."

A colleague of mine in a rural school district in south Mississippi tells the following story.

I was giving out worksheets in an English class when one of my students raised her hand and said, "Mrs.Mormon, there is an ugly word on this paper".

Knowing this to be false I responded, "Honey, you must be
mistaken.Which statement do you think has the uglyword?"

The student's reply was "Number five"

Statement number five read "My grandfather went to the garden to work with his new hoe."

A prompt discussion on garden utensils ensued. [Big Grin]

For a homework assignment, the teacher told her middle school class to watch a television show that had something to do with sex, and then report on it the next day.

The next morning, the teacher called on a little girl in the front row and said, "Jenny, what show did you watch last night?" The girl stood and said, "I watched 'ER' last night, and they showed a doctor delivering a baby." "Very good", said the teacher, "How about you, Tommy, what show did you watch?"

A boy in the room stood up and said, "I watched 'Animal Planet', and they showed two frogs mating." "That's outstanding!", the teacher enthused, "Outstanding. What about you, little Johnny, what show did you watch?"

Little Johnny stood up and announced, "I watched Gene Autry on the Western channel! There were 12 Indians hiding behind a boulder, trying to ambush ol' Gene, and he rode up, pulled out his 6-shooters and killed every one of those Indians DEAD!"

The teacher, puzzled, asked, "Well... what in the world does that have to do with sex?"

Little Johnny fired back, "It taught those Indians not to fuck with Gene Autry!"

When asked for her occupation, a woman charged with a traffic violation said she was a schoolteacher.

The judge rose from the bench."Madam,I have waited years for a schoolteacher to appear before this court," he smiled with delight. "Now sit down at that table and write: 'I will not pass through a red light' five hundred times!!" [Big Grin]

When I arrived for my daughter's parent-teacher conference,the
teacher seemed a bit flustered, especially when she started
telling me that my little girl didn't always pay attention in
class and was sometimes a little flighty."For example, she'll do
the wrong page in the workbook," the teacher explained,"and I've
even found her sitting at the wrong desk."

"I don't understand,"I replied defensively."Where could she
have gotten that?"

The teacher went on to reassure me that my daughter was still
doing fine in school and was sweet and likable. Finally, after a
pause, she added, "By the way, Mrs. Hallinan, our appointment was tomorrow." [Big Grin]
