I currently work for Harkins at the Prescott Valley 14. Been with Harkins since January 2003, became a Manager later in the year in Aug. Love Film work and running the booth. I take pride in giving the best possible show (unlike some of my co-workers whom I won't name). Prior to joining this wonderful indusrty I was(still am kinda) a Database Anylist/IT Professional. Got tired of living in a "Cube farm" and general office politics out in L.A. not to mention tired of L.A. in general. Believe it or not an online buddy of mine got me to move out to this area on a 3 month consulting contract for installing a new POS system for a local Feed store(3 stores in all). Started working part time at Harkins as Floor Staff shortly after moving out here just for "something to do". I have a mad passion for Movies. I do not watch TV at all. I'm usually working or sitting infront of my PC's(note the plural). To be honest with these platter systems and newer Projection systems it almost seems like childs play to me compared to the Data werehousing and Precision Guided Weapon Systems maintenance I used to do. Oh ya, I should mention I was in the USAF for 10 years doing just that while learning Database systems. Would like to see a Changeover house someday. That at least sounds challenging. However, I cannot recall a film that has done as good as 'Bleep 'at Valley Art in my 3 years with the company. Camelview on the other hand regularly has huge turnouts due to the exclusive nature of our films. As a bonus, Managers can (or at least could when I was there) get hot wings passed through the window upstairs from the Hooters balcony next door. When I showed the Mary Poppins sing-a-long there in 2001, we were sold out for every show. But in reality, I believe that we ran in the red every day that we were open after the remodel. I've heard Dan say that the company makes enough money at the other theatres, and that "we'll run valley art for fun." Anyway, welcome to Film-Tech.
