Missile Defense Linked to Jobs, Wealth, Happiness
WASHINGTON (AheadOfNews.com) - An AheadOfNews.com reporter visited the Pentagon this week to interview David Puffer, Undersecretary of Defense for Missile Defense. Here is the text of their exchange:
Q. I've heard that the U.S. is planning an update of the Strategic Defense Initiative, or Star Wars. Is this true? A. Yes. It's called Star Wows.
Q. How does it work? A. When spy satellites see a rain of incoming missiles, they trigger an umbrella launch. A huge bumbershoot instantly covers any friendly at-risk country at an altitude of about 500 feet.
Q. What kind of umbrella? A. A cloth umbrella stretched over a folding radial frame.
Q. Won't the incoming missiles rip through the umbrella and devastate Paducah or London? A. No. The umbrella will be made of extra-thick laser cloth.
Q. What if a bad person launches 500,000 missiles all at once? A. They will bounce off like rain and fall, glub, in the ocean.
Q. Won't submarines shoot under the umbrella and vaporize Keokuk or Sydney? A. No. The tips of the umbrella frame will release nuclear nippers to cut the submarine missiles in half and cause them to fall, glub glub, in the ocean.
Q. Will Star Wows cost a lot? A. Only a cruel miser would put a price tag on freedom. Besides, Star Wows will create 10 million new jobs in the U.S. as well as several in Poland and three in Australia. Incomes will continue to rise in those countries, and taxes will disappear entirely. Everyone in good countries will become incredibly rich, safe, and happy.
Q. Does anyone oppose Star Wows? A. Absolutely not.

Coke Ain't No Joke
W a t e r
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.) 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?
C o k e
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. Check it out.
For Your Info : 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

Reporter Urges Uplift, Gets Boot
SWAMP RIVER, SC (AheadOfNews.com) - A reporter for the Swamp River Bugle lost his job today after convincing his boss to reject the negative.
Marvin Smiley told publisher Bill Caldwell that the Bugle was a "negative paper filled with bad stuff about wrecks, rapes, and budget cuts," according to a mole at the Bugle.
Smiley maintained that the paper should never print stories about layoffs, the national debt, fighting, embezzling, shoplifting, or speeding and that negative words such as recession, hunger, SARS, bear market, and terrorist should be banished.
He presented Caldwell with a proposed list of "uplifting" front-page stories, as follows:
Monday: Ribbon cutters cut ribbon at renovated Swamp River Bridge.
Tuesday: Kindergarten children present Progress Plaque to city booster club.
Wednesday: Horace "Nine-Toe" James accepts annual lawnmower safety award.
Thursday: Mayor gives two-hour speech about importance of the future.
Friday: Kindergarten children, mayor, and boosters hold picnic and bubble-blowing extravaganza at renovated Swamp River Bridge.
Saturday: Auxiliary boosters sew gold buttons on honorary booster jackets.
Sunday: Everyone attends church.
Smiley also suggested that Caldwell get rid of trouble-makers on the Bugle staff. The publisher agreed and fired Smiley.
